Trip - you want to head over to the Skirmish forum, look at the stickied thread and read Kiddoc's 2004 championship report (and CE review). The review is out of date, but theres still alot of good information, especially about how to execute moves with CE.

Trip,

Look for Chrisgroves review of tile placement strategies too. It will only help you for the next several months, but it's worth it. Also, begin thinking about how you would convert your warband to playing on maps. Once Wardrums comes out this will be important (As will the consideration of a Tiefling or other higher comander rating).

Aside from that, be patient. You're on the cusp of winning (more regularly) already. [:D]

Definatley visit the skirmish forums, but here are some quick thoughts with your specific band (there will be other suggestions on how to improve your band).

Generally speaking all those low point figures are there to help you dictate how/when your big boys engage with the enemey. You'll definatley want to lead with the LRD if you opponenet has a fireball (or 2) up his sleave, or if he is using figures like the Gauth, or Beholder.

Otherwise, the fodder is there to screen your hitter: You don't want that ogre Ravager to be down 40 hit points when he starts swining because you led with him in the face of 2 Greycloack Rangers!

You will want to control initative as best you can, so a timely jump by the LRD to breath across your enemies fodder/weak commander could be key.

Don't make the mistake of pushing the LRD up to far away from teh rest of your band. Sure, he's big, pretty hard to hit, and has great saves, but give a warband 2 or 3 rounds where they can focus on him, and you'll find yourself in trouble!
