Hi Everyone,

I'm trying to jump back into mini's after a good 7 month break. With that, I couldn't help but notice the handful of new maps available:

-Magma Keep
-Fane of the Drow
-Hellspike supplement from Dragon magazine

What is everyone's feedback on these maps? Is one more fun than the other? Knowing that we never play with Huge mini's and that I found the Lost Temple mat boring, would you recommend one over the other?

Thanks,
Matt

I like the Mushroom map best, but Drow Outpost and Mithril Mines are nice too.

I really havent played the new maps I bought Sunday yet. However I have played on magma keep, temple, fane of lloth out of those Fane of Lloth is my favourite. My goal is to spend more on maps then I do on minis from here on out. No more boosters for me, just singles and things that have maps.

I am now firmly in the camp of folks that prefer maps and the 8 figure limit. Its amazing how quickly you start to think of the map as the 9th member of your warband.

The ones that alot of people on Vassal seem to prefer are Drow Outpost and Mithral Mines. So far, I haven't played on a map that I don't like.

Maybe if we ask nicely, Wizards R&D will introduce a Prince By-Tor and a Snow Dog mini ;)

So, back to the maps. Where do I find the Drow Outpost and Mithral Mines maps? Can I download them or will I need to purchase them as part of an official D&D release?

Thanks,
Matt

Right now, you need to buy them...

Mithral Mines comes in the Fantastic Locations: Fane of the Drow product. Drow Outpost comes in Dragon Magazine #337.

There's a newer Fantastic Locations product called Hellspike Keep that has even more maps, and more Fantastic Locations are on the horizon.

IIRC Drow Outpost was in Dragon Magazine 337

Mithral Mines, Queen Peregrine's Tomb, Drow Enclave and Fane of Lolth
are in Fane of the Drow.

Hellspike, Magma Keep and Mushroom Cavern are in Hellspike Prison.

Other than Lost Temple thats all the Maps.
