I like the first band better because it has good amounts of damage and I like the rakasha as a commander. Not saying your second band is bad but I would switch out Urthok for a Dark Naga because you can then boost the gauths eye rays which would make your build much stronger.

I'd be really leary of tying 2 Chraals to a Rakshasa. I'd have to go with the second band.

Use the first warband, but sub the Blue and 1 Chraal out for a Duergar Champ and a Kobold Miner. Use the Drow Outpost map..and watch your sliding powers kill stuff :P. You dont want 2 Chraals tied on one Rakshasa..not to safe.

The "Dark Flames" band is a build which you can use if you substitute the naga for Urthok, although it uses 2 Duergars instead of the Chraal. If you insist on using the Chraal with the band, take out both Blues and Urthok and you get 44 pts for the Naga and a G.Skirmisher. I considered using this at a time, but it has less activations though...

I also agree with Aravis that 2 Chraals with the relatively softer Rakshasa is a bit risky. Could work, but there would be a lot less space for error in playing the band.

I prefer the first, though as someone said earlier, I would sub out the Rakshasa and throw in a Blackguard, or replace the Chraals with Duergar Champions.

to add one more voice to the chorus - dont run 2x Chraal with a Rakshasa. its not sturdy enough to support them.

Now.. Urthok is a great commander for a single Chraal IMO. The Gauth adds a ton to the standard 4 beater LE band.

I know when the Chraal first came out, many people including myself tested them with the Rak, and while most (obviously) found the HBG/Orog a much better choice, I do not think the Rak tests went horrible. I would never connect more than 2 to him, and connecting 2 you do so knowing its risky. But I dont think its an automatic kiss of death.

Im out- find me on Hordelings if you want to chat.

I like the second one. As was stated earlier, similar warbands do fairly well. There are some benefits to using Urthok rather than the excellent Naga, but first on my list is the commander 5. I just love winning some initiative. As for the first one, I'm too paranoid about those damn Giths to run two chraals attached to something that prone to death by unavoidable strike. No doubt you can work around it, but, still, it will cause problems.
