Playing epic for the first time this weekend. The basis of my band is going to be... Elminster (non-epic) Epic AoK Archmage IM Thinking about the cros shaman for snake's swiftness but not sure what else i should put in. Want to give elm some more spells that would be useful but just not sure what to do.

my personal fav is epic kord elminster Ghaele eladrin crow shaman evermeet wizard -summon in fodder and activations the ghaele eladrin and aspect of kord is one nasty combo 80-90 damage criticals and you can activate again, ouch! or a more beat down version epic kord elminster ryld couatl large copper dragon elf warrior or xeph +11 to initiative and thats 150 damage but you don't get to go again on criticals

I like Mordenkainen with Elminster. The big gap that Elm and the archmage have is no area effect spells. Mordenkained has lines and cones, along with a variety of energy types. A lot of people like the Evermeet wizard for the summons and the benign transposition which lets you move Kord around. Aramil and the Ray of Enfeeblement is handy against Epic threats. I used him in an epic game last week with a cleric of Garl Glittergold. The ring of blades didn't do much, but the sanctuary saved my bacon in one match. Lots of options.

Evermeet Wizard - she gives transposition to Elminster which really helps to position the Epic Kord for Full Attacks and to pull a based Arch Mage away without provoking an AOO. She also has a summons spell which can give you a lot of blockers to use and extra activations. Wizard Tactician - This one is only in theory as I have never used one but hear this: the slapping hand's DC is now 22 and she can cast it on anyone. Epic Kord has cleave and reach 2, so if Kord is basing a low level, low hp creature and is within reach of a more desirable target, then cast a slapping hand on the low level piece. Kord smacks it and then gets to cleave at the more desirable target. Mordenkainen is a good choice for the extra offensive spells and commander effect but he is squishy and non-epic Elminster is too in 500pt so be careful. Again a transposition spell here is good.
