One thing that struck me in this article is that Steve blames the inability of Rob's figures to rally on poor luck with the dice. He also gives credit for the win to poor dice luck on Rob's part. I'd like to step up and defend Rob's dice. I think that the inability to make morale checks land's squarely on the shoulders of the warband. First, Commander 0. Second, there is one figure of level 10 and one level 9 (Guen). Those are the only two that are close to being 50% on a morale check. The odds say that everyone else should have failed their morale checks.
As far as the total victory goes, Steve's warband has four figures that are at least Tier 2 figures if not Tier 1. Rob's band gets the Duergar Champ which is nice, and that's about it. The Lolth's Sting is a good fig, but nothing to pin your hopes and dreams upon.

So, Steve, take some credit for building a nice warband and playing well, and leave the poor dice alone. If luck played a factor blame it for the figures that Rob had to work with in the sealed event, not his rolls.

One other thing I noticed. He says something like "since everyone online said I should play it like this I did...."

Most people online who wrote thought out responses of why each figure should be used and what specific tactics he should use did not suggest playing both rares.

The people who responded basically:

"Play the rares because rares are good"

were the ones he agreed with. [?]

Looking for someone to cosponser a midwest DDM event. let me know if your interested!

There was also one rules error I noticed. He describes the Gith Monk getting an AoO on a routing Guen; but from the map pics he posted, Guen has melee cover and doesn't take an AoO.

Do I get a No-Prize as Champeen Picker of Nits?

EDIT: unless Guen's routing path put it around that corner - nevermind then.
