Does a creature with multiple attacks who has or gains Whirlwind Attack get to make a melee attack against each creature in its reach with each melee attack? For instance, a Copper Dragon under command of a Brass Samurai - would it get all three attacks against each enemy it threatens?

No, just one attack against each enemy it threatens. So, it really boosts thing like the Half-Ogre Barbarian, more than it does say the Goliath Barbarian.

Actually Whirlwind Attack doesn't specify just 1 attack, it specifies a "separate" melee attack against each enemy it threatens. So it's a reasonable question. Something to bug Guy about on the WotC board. It does limit the creature to attacks only during it's turn at least.

I think if you stress a couple of other sections of the sentence then you'll get closer to the answer.

it specifies "a" separate melee "attack" against each enemy it threatens.

"a" and "attack" (not "attacks") are both singular.

Unless it says "replaces attack" in the new rule book, then I think that you will get 1 attack against all enemies you threaten and then finish off with your other attacks, either that or the rules will specify that you only get 1 attack during whirlwind attack.

Now we have our answer. The new rulebook specifically says that Whirlwind Attack Replaces Attack.

Yep. It'd be nice to have the rulebook prior to the release tourney. Hopefully they'll put it up sometime this week.

That's the way it always has been. The Githyanki Renegade, for example.

I doubt we'll get the rulebook before this weekend. If they were going to put it up on the internet, it'd have been up already. Instead, it seems they want to make sure people have an incentive to buy the starters ... (although the maps should be incentive enough).

Yeah well the problem is I don't want or need more than one starter. So I'm going to be waiting for the actual tournament when I have to buy one.

Would be nice if the rulebook was posted on thursday, as a minis preview since we really dont need a Wardrums preview at all. We'll just have to see what happens.
