| I don't think that we should jump to conclusions because that particular tournament was not reported. DoubtofBudda himself said that they practically knew that the tournament was not going to be sanctioned when they showed up. Just because the 1 time they went down there that tournament didn't happen to be sanctioned (you'll note that since December over 60% of the tournaments at that location were not sanctioned by the DCI) doesn't mean that it was done intentionally because their players lost.
Any store that has THAT MANY delinquent and invalidated tournaments should be stripped of its ability to run ANY DCI sanctioned tournaments. And if the Organizer of the tournaments profited (through his DCI rating) it should be stripped from him. Absent that other players should not be disadvantaged because the TO doesn't know how to run a tournament. | | 13th Place at the 2005 DDM Championship in GenCon

| Now, I'm no DCI Expert, but Neilasaurus has posted a link where you see a total of 47 invalidated events form this specific store. Now, I'm not even sure what's that supposed to mean, for all I know, other stores could have a thousand of them each, but it does look kinda odd...
Then again, if WotC has looked into it, the best I can say is that it's all fair and game.

| The guy I worked for this summer did a very very poor job of running DCI tournaments, even forgetting to post the tournaments in some cases. Even in this case I am not aware of even ONE invalidated tournament, I would not be surprised if this guy tops the list for most invalidated tournaments held (especially in DDM).
I'll tell you one thing. There is no way Wizards would let this fly with Dreamblade. | | 13th Place at the 2005 DDM Championship in GenCon

| | Um when we left the tournament in Tampa we were assured it would be reported. We talked the whole way back about how many DCI points we must have earned. The whole point of driving that far was the chance to earn DCI points. I wouldn't have gone if I had known I was going to be screwed. Two months later I was told by them the tournament had been reported. In fact it had been, but in such a way as to invalidate it. If you think that is a coincidence look at the link I posted and start going backwards in time. Before we went there they successfully posted like 100 tournaments. You would think they would know how to report tournaments by then. Somehow they magically forgot. Why weren't all the previous months invalidated? | | | |

So, what do I make of all this?
Don't know.
What I make of it, however, is that some people are immoral scumbags.
IMO of course. | | Champion of the Gelatinous Cube. Nemesis of Gnomes and Dinosaurs.

| I guess our worst fears were right after all....
I hope this doesn't keep the tampa players from continuing to participate in other regional events.

| Hard to say Pat. I wonder if Silver Dragon Games has been invalidated as a DCI sanctioned tourney location as a result too? Like was said before I'd hate for a few bad apples to say that the whole bunch is rotten.

Yeah, I'd agree - I suspect that it wasn't a fully considered move by anyone.
