| Thirty Times Three suffers from the same troubles that dual HGB suffers from, and on top of that it has less activations.
Three Eyes or Four Eyes can kill both your titans in one round of full attacks. (25 damage x 6 attacks = 150 damage. Yikes!).
Double Trouble is probably the better build. Primarily fearless so morale checks aren't an issue, and the Sacred Watchers offer screening/flanking support lacking in Thirty Times Three. Again, you're going to get chewed to bits by Three Eyes or Four Eyes. Tri-Chraal is also a horrible matchup (since without the Couatl those cones/death bursts will do a LOT of damage). | | Knight Warlord a.k.a. Commander (#32) in only 6 months. Where's my pie? I generally believe in 8 activations as my minimum, but, two Maruts are just so cool.quote: Three Eyes or Four Eyes can kill both your titans in one round of full attacks. (25 damage x 6 attacks = 150 damage. Yikes!).
They have to hit first though. If your Maruts move nice and slow, and bottle up the Couatl to keep it safe, then the Eyes have had to move an awful long way first. If you time it right, each Eye gets one swing on a Marut for your first three swings. After that, once you're based, it could be trouble. But, the big difference is, an Eye that's hit once and been hit once is down to 55 hit points, one lesser sonic orb from a morale save. And, if he fails that save while based (especially if he's basing two Maruts), he's in even worse shape as he runs away.quote: Double Trouble is probably the better build. So much depends upon how many multi-Chraal builds show up. I mean, imagine taking this Double Trouble build to an event that's dominated by single Marut/Couatl bands. The Sacred Watchers can harrass the Couatl, Aramil, and or Cleric of Order, while the two Maruts gang up on the Marut/Bodyguard.
I'm just sayin'.

| | Personally, I like the super-buffed double Marut: Marut x2, Eberk, Artificer. Four Eyes aren't going to hit a 28 AC. | | | |

| (Silly mode engaged)
Lacks four Eyes of Gruumsh and four Orc Champions. Go mortgage your house to add them to this Fun Band!
(Silly disengaged)
Neither are truly bad bands. They could do decent at a non-Top Level tournament, I imagine. They look amusing, certainly. | | - Irrationally Fanatical Champion of Pegasus-mounted cavalry - Proud member of Team Low Tier Beasting: I play CG as my main faction! - Garland, TX 2006 Qualifier Champion My trading thread: http://www.maxminis.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=19725 | |
