| | I like to use Maxminis to get meta advice, as I'm rather isolated. But I also have learned to test it out as well, because you have to personally understand the band to play it well. | | Official Delegate, Wizards of the Coast Icons Called Shot: Gargantuan Prismatic Dragon "Rejoice, for bad things are about to happen." | |

| Give a man a fish and he will eat for the day. Teach a man to fish and he will eat for life.
Sure anybody can combe the forums for nugets of info. Doing something with them is another matter! People who stick around and pertisipate in the forums contribute to the community and benifit from it.
By having an open community you add new members as old ones drop out. Information gets exchanged between new and old members. Not everybody had time to devote to an online life on these forums - no need to be upset if someone's life doesnt allow them to be here as often as others. There are no trade secrets here. (Dave's NOSTy goodness aside) there are other forums out there too. We have a great community but its not the be all and end all ;) | | It would be very unlikely for unlikely events not to occur. - J. A. Paulos "Innumeracy"

| I'll admit to being a poster without much actual game experience. It doesn't help when playing online doesn't work well and there are no local gamers to play with. From this site there does appear to be a fair community across the river in MN but the Cities are about two hours away which causes logistical problems.
Inspite of limited game play I try to be a problem solver and analytical thinker. My post count here isn't that high but fortunately Merric doesn't keep track of comments on the article pages. I strive to give accurate information but try to stay away from rehashing old topics.

| I have relatively few posts to most people on this forum and I often check out the forum in bursts. I consider myself quite a good UK player but the correlation of ability to advice is neither inverse or otherwise. I really feel it has no relevance.
I am pretty resistant to the metagame and almost always play a band that noone is talking about. Often this means that noone is really responding to my observations since they do not deal purely with the competitive game. This doesnt bother me because like other games those most interested in chatting on things are not 'usually' the casual players or traders.
Yes there are efficient pieces and good combos, but whenever i join this forum it is to find those interesting threads on a piece being used in unthought of ways. So for those who worry about low posters stealing the wisdom or experience of frequent posters, I say "no worries mate infrequent posters are less likely to be looking anyway" [:)]
Oh yes, and I didnt read all the items on this thread so I hope that proves the point.
