| I think my pick has to go to the Dracolich: Paralysis dc 23 is rediculously powerful just imagine its on the first attack. somone comes up to hit him. He retaliates they fail paralysis and he lays out 100 pts more of damage for 125 damage in one round ouch. Can we say good bye aspects? whats your favorite piece.
Now that all the stats are out whats your favorite? | | Completed trades: bonelock, noilo x2, greylord78, Altayr, Shadow Lord x3, qillan_dvra, symbiotesx2, devasque, smetzger, dulsin, Sir Bozak The Damned, Ironfist Boulderbender x3, tallcar24, Tactician x2, Okay McKay, skwave, dariustad,Eprosen,hung4treason,dog of the underworld,FeranEldritchKnight,Jerry_Damage01,vtloon

| Dracolich just doesn't have enough HP. He basically requires a Beholder to go with him.
My pick is the Cleric of Syreth. I get a nice backup commander, legion's shield of faith, and magic weapon on a single piece? Most excellent.
Runner-up would be Blue Barney. That boy is a monster and you can squeeze three in an Epic warband. Kudos to the blue-dude [^] | | Knight Warlord a.k.a. Commander (#32) in only 6 months. | I'm really liking the Purple Worm. The DC 20 or get swallowed thing is really awful. I'm going to have to wait a few weeks though, to get a better feel for the set.

| Well. Considering there's nothing with Construct-bane (I'm getting dreadfully tired of seeing Constructs everywhere, see), I had to think it over. But my nod goes to the Small Copper Dragon. It's an incredibly versatile tool piece, and I think it'll work out well.
Is it as awe-inspiring as some other pieces in WotDQ? Not in the least. But I think it has so many uses, that it's hard to pass up. | | - Irrationally Fanatical Champion of Pegasus-mounted cavalry - Proud member of Team Low Tier Beasting: I play CG as my main faction! - Garland, TX 2006 Qualifier Champion My trading thread: http://www.maxminis.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=19725

| I kinda like the Spellscale Sorceror. He is perfect to run with Elminster. Counterspell screws Couatl/Marut, or any other Buff dependant band. He waorks by himself.
The Ogre Skirmisher has a lot of promise. It's a Xen'Drik just dangerous.
The Cadaver Collector is TOO good.
There is a certain Dwarf that is just plain nuts, and I have wanted to make a Dwarf theme band for a loong time now.
Spellscale is the piece for me though. | | Two trades completed!! (Krush,Hides From Hurricanes) Champion of the Aaracokra Herald Of Snig Goblin King

| I have to say that so far I am really impressed with a lot of the figures in this set. All of the EPIC pieces look like a lot of fun to play. But since I don't think he's been said yet I have to say that the Mountain Troll looks pretty good to me.
With two attacks at 40 damage, a lot of hp, three stunning attacks, and regeneration 10, he looks like he could be staying around on the field for a while. [:)]

| Gold Medal: Warden of the Wood - I am a sucker for a good Beastmaster and the Lion of Turdville was such a wretched pile that this figure looks great. Fearless Bears and angry wolves.
Silver Medal: Mounted Blackguard - Maybe more for the sculpt, the stats are rather undifferent then his on-foot brother. If he had Cleave like all BG's are required to have he'd be really sweet, riding in and cleaning up fodder with a few hoofs to the skull and swipes of the sword.

| | My favorite WotDQ skirmish piece is the Magma Hurler. Its ranged damage is ungodly (15 + 15 fire!), and it can be brought into CG with the Bonded Fire Summoner. My next favorite would be the Cadaver Collector (it's like an evil Marut...on crack!). | | Check out my DDM Blog: http://scifirules.livejournal.com "I will pay my dues when you send me my tusks!" -Strong Bad Champion of Chainmail Equivalencies | Knight of Efficient Fodder WotDQ Called Shot: Large Green Dragon (VINDICATED) | Blood War Called Shot: Large Brass Dragon | Unhallowed Called Shot: Skeletal Troll

| From a totally skirmish standpoint, I think...and this is just my humble opinion, that the best mini from WoTDQ is the "Diseased Dire Rat" Especially in Epic. Every LE warband will most likely have one.
There's also the Witchknife which comes in second-- I just think that universally hated ability is hilarious! But it's the Spell Silencer ability I love.
Honorable mention should go to the Stirge. I read the thread on Stirge warbands and I swear...I laugh so hard that I peed myself. (Just a little bit though)
It just dawned on me that the Sorcerer on Black Dragon can be pulled into CG...hmmmmmmmm

| My favorite minis are perhaps the Tundra Scout and the Sorcerer on Black Dragon. I like, from a design standpoint, how they combined the abilites of both the mount and the rider into a single skirmish piece.
That said, there are other ways to do that. I wonder if we'll ever get a piece where both the mount and the rider have seperate activations with totally seperate abilites. | | Champion of the Rakshasa. Check out my Mini Terrain Maker, or my new Dungeon Map Maker (under development).

| 200- Mounted Blackguard is the one I'm liking the most, solid speed, good attacks, and the ablility to make Duergars and their ilk all but fearless.
500- I can't choose between the Purple Worm (very good damage effects and mobility) and the Sorcerer on Black (Interesting options)

While I do agree that the Spellscale Sorcerer is an interesting piece (counterspell is very nice), there is no way that it can replace the Elf Pyromancer. A first turn fireball can be devastating on the enemy, and those energy resistances can be golden against the right warbands. | | Over 270 successful online DDM trades.

The Spellscale can douse that Fireball, which is less useful now that you aren't wiping out 6 pieces of fodder with it. ROE can save you just as much damage, but much more often.
I'm not saying he's better, or that a first round Fireball doesn't sting, but I do think that in the right circumstances, the Spellscale is a better metagame choice.
And that's what it boils down to- he's going to drift in and out of the metagame for a long time. | | Mine is an evil laugh! Muhahahaha! -Wash, Firefly

| Lots of good picks, but a single favorite for Skirmish? Probably the Cadaver Collector. It's nice to see LE get a really good titan again- this is one of the best in the 200 point game. Not only that, but it has the stats to be a good hitter in Epic.
+22/+22(30) on a non-Epic LE mini? Has to be a typo. :P
There are others I really like too. The Sorcerer on Black and Tundra Scout look like they are both strong and fun to play. The Blackguard is one of the first minis I want to get. There is alot of good stuff in this one. | | Mine is an evil laugh! Muhahahaha! -Wash, Firefly

| I agree with many of the statements made here.
I'm not going to list my favs - because at this point, i just don't know. Maybe the DW kobold...[)]
But what really impresses me is the variety of figures that have been listed. Superb. Sure, we all have preconceived notions about what we want to see, but in this case, i think we got an interesting yet predominantly unexpected mix.
Hopefully, many of these turn out to stick well in the meta, and shake things up a bit....
