| So, now that hordelings fancy new articles interface (http://www.hordelings.com/frontend/articles/index.php) is up and running I just wanted to formally wish everyone a good bye. Most of my attention is going to be focused over there now, and future revisions to the toolkit articles (and new articles) will be produced over there. I welcome anyone and everyone to join me over there. If you would rather stay here though, that is cool too.

* the site began to outgrow its server and needed upgrading
* the webmaster was absent
* a proposal was created to merge hordelings and maxminis
* the webmaster returned, and started upgrading the site
* Jai chose to leave for various reasons that aren't absolutely clear, but seem to indicate a serious disagreement between him and the webmaster
* Kevin began updating Hordelings fairly seriously
* Some people have chosen to move to hordelings as it has improved
* Some people want the webmaster to be more "present" on maxminis, but he's remained fairly inconspicuous at present
Please, let it lie there (see the stickied posts in General Discussion).

I didn't know the owner of this site was an unknown person; I thought that it was Merric:

All the options are laid bare--in an ugly but maximally functional list of links at the top of the page. And, of course, this is where the world champions would post their tournament reports.
With doubt leaving, I presume the core toolkit will go with him--this is a great resource (it is linked from Wikipedia--that may have to be updated), and another reason maxminis was the best site for DDM players.
As stated before, I opposed the merger, and would like to see both sites grow with their own peculiarities and tools intact. But, I am now infinitely more curious about Hordelings and what it has to offer with active webmasters than I was before. | |
