| No matter what you do in a Nightwalker band, you have to find ways to keep him alive--if you lose him, you're almost guaranteed to lose the game. That said, you may want blockers or other alternatives. Ending up with a swarm of Horde Zombies might work.
A Zombie White Dragon as a short-term hit-point sink might work.
You'll also want to be able to reliably get victory area points. If you don't, and your opponent does, then you're in trouble. The other pieces in your band cannot reliably handle much that shows up in epic games, and so if there's more than one victory area, your Nighhtwalker probably cannot cover both of them. So, you'll want to be able to stay even on that score, or the point difference will kill you.
The Nightwalker, if I recall, likes the Hellspike. Though the Teleport Temple might be tempting.
How about this?
Nightwalker Eye of Gruumsh (excellent commander assassin) Cultist of the Dragon (summon a big pile of junk to get activations) Cursed Spirit x2 (victory area grabbers after round 1, and excellent for flanking and lowering saves) Troglodyte (stench) Timber Wolf (first round victory area grabber)

| | Most opponents will go after your Drow Cleric right away, as she is pretty easy to kill in 200, and even easier in 500. Of course, this also buys more time for the Nightwalker to do its dirty work, but just know that she will have a bullseye on her head. | | Over 270 successful online DDM trades. | |

| Could try this instead: Drow Cleric of Lolth Nightwalker Xen'Drik Champion Orc Wardrummer Quaggoth Slave Timber Wolf x2 Orc Warrior
This gives you the ability to grab VP's without much trouble, and the second wolf can be used for flanks and harassing. The Xen'Drik works good as a blocker for your Nightwalker and can get in some decent damage when it moves. The Quaggoth Fills the role of Bodyguard. Wardrummer of course just gives the Nightwalker some decent saves for chrissakes! | | "Only for the sake of the honor of mankind do I not tear off their necks as is done to slaughtered beasts." -- The Angel of Death | |

| Two Tiefling Captains are the same price as one Drow Cleric of Lolth--and each is only 1 commander rating lower. If you want to have a consistent shot at winning initiative, that might be the better option as you should be able to keep one of those two alive longer than just the Drow Cleric.
Just a thought.

| The nightwalker's only hope of beating a Bahamut and epic Tordek is his instant kill and you have to have a cursed spirit or 2 and 2 or so trogs. The wardrummer is a good throw in but not needed since the nightwalker is undead. The save help is good but a wardrummer can also double as a -4 morale tracker. Then you don't need a commander but it might be nice if shaman were on the team for the extra swing. You have to be on the king's road or the hellspike with smoke to really get at an opponent. I personally would try the nightwalker b\c against the big name creatures he might kill them in one spell and he is undead, so no morale check. He is immune to one of bahamuts cones, which helps him out alot. Against Tordek he has the paralysis and the finger of death also. So he loves little Tordek. I think you should rock the nightwalker one time and see what he can do.
