Okay, on the 30th of september there are the UK championships, and I am still totally undecided about which band to play. Most people keep their ideas close to their chest, but I tried that before the Euro's, and, well, that was one of my least auspicious moments. The UK challenge cup, OtOH when I threw my ideas out for people to evalute, led to me coming in at third with a lot of help from a last minute suggestion of playing Rikka instead of a goliath barbarian by (surrepticious use of search function) Pegasus knight. Therefore, I would appreciate anyone who has the time giving me some feedback on these warbands.

As a bit of help, the
UK metagame is much the same as the global metagame normally, with the exception that Maruts and gith monks turn up less frequently, and Inspired Frenzy turns up more frequently.

Band 1 LG

Sand Giant 79
Tordek 59
Cleric of Order 24
Eberk 16
Aramil 13
Man at arms x3 9

8 activations
laceName>DragonlaceName> laceType>TemplelaceType> 200 pts

Reasoning: High AC and resistant to firebelchers.

Problems: Potentially too low damage output

Band 2 CG

GreenFang Druid 50
Redspawn Belcher 39
Frenzied Zerker 52
Rikka 31
Aramil 13
wolf x3 15

8 activations
200pts, Mushroom cavern

Reasoning: Very similar to my band at
UK challenge cup, adds a belcher to offer a degree of protection against enemy belchers, though it could still be played as it was before (-1 belcher and wolf, +1dire bear) and hope not too many belchers were played.

Band 3 LE

Kobold Sorcerer 20

Helmed Horror x2 90

Night Hag x2 86

Kobold miner 3

6 activations

199 pts, Drow outpost

Reasoning: Has a good chance against either Monks (who could just about turn up) and belchers, against all others two RoE’s should suffice to allow HH’s to kill. Has tested poorly against kordocopia though.

And finally:

Band 4 LE

Cadaver collector 103

Shuluth, archvillain 59

Snig the Axe 20 + goblin skirmisher sniglets x3

Azer Raider x3 15

Kobold miner 3

10 activations, Dragon temple

Reasoning: CC is huge. Adding walls of fodder and fire immune azers helps gain the positional advantage against giths or belchers, or at the very least delay them long enough for a stun or paralysis cones.

Sorry for long post, will be thankful for any feedback.

I did very well at a recent toruny using CC.  He is a monster to take down.  Good luck and I hope he works out for you.

Ummm Cheese. Why is that an anti CC band exactly? I'll run my CC band verses that and totally stomp it.  The Firebelchers are the anti CC band. Very very tough against the CC and his shields.

Wow, honestly not the result I was expecting. Thanks to everyone who has voted so far. I played a game with the CC band last night against my brother piloting Dual redspawns + dual ravagers, and the result looks promising, though there was some quite swingy luck (2 natural 1's from the CC, 2 natural 20's from an Azer raiders).

I sort of like Warband two, but I have the feeling that without a Drummer, the Belcher will run away too easy. I went for warband 4, simply because its a fairly solid warband. Alot of damage, good amount of activations, Belcher screens and a very cool commander effect.

Im not crazy about any of them.. I picked the CG band with the belcher cause it looks fun. but the CC isnt terrible.. I just cant see a LE titan without a chance to heal it. but goodness does +22 for 30.. TWICE.. thats just a beast. given cleave or something.. that could be.. whoa. Â
