| Around here (Sacramento, CA), I've been known to play the Clawfoot (love that piece) and I've seen some Golden Protectors being used as well.
But that's about it from your list. | | Dr. Simon: A phrase that's encoded in her brain, that makes her fall asleep. If I speak the words, "Eta... Jayne: Well don't say it! Zoë: It only works on her, Jayne.

That's becasue most of those pieces are poor in skirmish (200 and or 500 pt), with the exception of maybe the Ogre Skirmisher who I think has a place somewhere in a warband.Â

| You forgot to mention some of the other 30 or so WotDQ pieces that never see the light of day. I mean, none of the Epic pieces you mention can hold a candle to Bahamut or Tordek or even Tiamat. The other ones mentioned just aren't that good either or at best niche pieces.
Not sure the purpose of the post. You could easily find 11 pieces from each set that never get used.

| | Or about 80 from Harbinger, Dragoneye is down to the eye of gruumsh, although even he is appearing less then he used too, Archfiends only really has the orc champion anymore. Giants is in similar straights, although the Inspiring Marshall, Lord Soth, and perhaps a few other pieces see the light of day now and agian. Abberations really only ever had the frenzied berserker and crow shamen, both of whom have maintained their use to some degree. Deathknell boasts about an equivilent number of pieces, with couatl and dwarf artifacer. Angelfire shows a similar number as well (archmage in epic comes to mind, as does chraal), Underdark shows much better, with Duergar Champions, Aspects of Kord, maruts, Rikka's, etc. Wardrums also looks pretty good, zak raks, the ocasional war troll showing up. | | Call me: W.N. For a time, the Half-Elf Bow Initiate could be used quite effectively.

- Azer Fighter Too slow and expensive to compete with the old Azer Raider and both LE and LG have access to better 10p-ish fodder. - Clawfoot Rider It does have potential, but its hard to run properly. And the 50p figures always have to compete with pieces like the Frenzied Berserker. - Dracolich (Could make an appearance with the Heir) Too low HP at the moment, and paralysis will do squat against Bahamut and Tiamat. However, it might see some play, like you stated, thanks to the Heir. - Eldritch Giant The save is too low for the pointcost, has no Magic Weapon, Dimension Doors arens swift. LE has better epics available. Move along. - Golden Protector Again with too low saves combined with a bit too high cost. And now with Bloodwars, LG has much better options at the 40p-range, like Maug, Kolyarut, Thundertus, etc. - Large Fang Dragon It could be pretty damn good with all the damage, but the attack bonuses are low. If the meta switches to a more chaotic dominant form, I guess it could see play. Also, CE could use a cheap magic weapon-caster. - Magma Hurler Never hits a damn thing, has an abysmal save and fire damage is easy to resist. - Mountain Troll Fomorian is so much better, that if you have one theres no need to run this. - Ogre Skirmisher Good on paper, but its missing some synergies within CE and Magic Weapon wouldnt hurt either. Still, it could get better at some point. - Purple Worm (It can kill Tordek with one attack) Actually a good piece but Bahamut eats it alive, Storm Archers shoot it full of holes before it can reach them and Archmagi can keep running away and casting spells at it. - Sorcerer on Black Dragon Too low damae for the cost. Even the spells wont help.
Thats what I think.

The Human Blackguard is still a good LE commander. Orc Warrior is still around.
That's about it maybe.
I'm intrigued by the Clawfoot and for some weird reason I really like the little guy. | | WotC - making me wish more and more every day for a return to the TSR days. :( I fought the snark and the snark won. I'm baaaaaaaaaaack!

It just depends on how adventurous you are when constructing a warband. Many of the accepted "teir 1" bands don't use these guys, but that doesn't mean you can't make something competative with them.
I've seen an absolutely nasty dual clawfoot rider/Bladesinger band at a local tournament. Their just too darn fast for most bands to ever catch! I've also seen CE quads that make good use of the Ogre Skirmisher. Being a little cheaper than most other "quad" pieces, he allows you to build for 8 activations without sacrificing the wardrummer or a tile grabber. Â
I personally really like the Fang Dragon. With three attacks, it offsets the relatively low attack bonus. I ran Hezrou, 2x Fang Dragon etc. on Dragonshrine and often had their first attack between +12 or +18 if you can make good use of the CFX, sacred circles, flanking and stench. | | A Proud Gelatinous Dude

| Harbinger still has some usable pieces, especially some commanders -- same goes for other early sets. Harbinger - Cleric of Order, Human Commoner, Mat-At-Arms, Jozan, Devis, Azer Raider, Wolf, Human Bkackguard, Hyena, Teifling Captain, Orc Warrior -- even Cleric of Corellon Larethian or Lidda Dragoneye - Goblin Skirmisher, Urthok, Abyssal Maw, Eye of Gruumsh, Ogre Ravager -- even Orc Druid or Red Samurai Archfiends - Mialee, Graycloak Ranger, Dark Moon Monk, Orc Champion, Snig and niche pieces like Cleric of Lathander (was an early include in Kordicopia), LSD, Healer, Moon Elf Fighter or even Gauth, Cleric of Kord or Drizzt GoL - Standard Bearer, Young Master, Aramil, Eberk, Inspiring Marshall, Rakshasa, Lord Soth and you sometimes see Regdar, Medium Astral Construct, Mordy, Blue, Dire Rat, Blue Slaad
Each set has about a half-dozen really good pieces and another half-dozen or so decent pieces with the rest relegated to rarely if ever used -- give or take a few for some sets. The OP 11 pieces just aren't that good, with reasons given by others above.
