| Gaze all day is pretty bad. Interestingly, this topic comes up every once in a while. I wonder if LE still has the worst bands. There are some bad LG ones:
Lawful Good Arcane Ballista x4 Gnome Fighter
Stone Golem Arcane Ballista Dwarf Phalanx Soldier City Guard
Lawful Evil Mummy Lord Medusa Human Cleric of Bane City Guard

It was touted as one of the best warbands of all time. But you had to be there. It was very very funny in its day.Â

Name calling isnt tolerated The Ochre Jelly had its day (in 100 and tiles especially) and is still an okay fodder blocker. It's lost a lot with so many cheap DR pieces, though.
The Stone Golem got use, and still can in some Beholder-heavy areas, in 500. Again, the rise of DR in so many places limits his usefulness some, but he was a great, semi-durable slow effect in 500.
Bottom line: There is no "worst band". I can play a quirky, oddball mix of stuff and win or lose based on how well I play it. It also depends on matchups. We have one guy locally who loves sneak attacking figures. He does rips through bands until he runs in to constructs or undead, so this bands may be mo9ore matchup dependent, but not bad.Â
AckEdit - quoting profanity isnt allowed either - nor is name calling. A warning to you as well.

He/she might be asking because of an upcoming reverse constructed format tournament. We just had one in our area recently. However, some of these warbands are so bad, that they're already illegal in reverse constructed. | | Over 270 successful online DDM trades.

| | We had a worst of all tournament (players switched bands for the play), with added restriction, of no more than one creature each and must include commander. So no 4 ballistas etc. The band that won the day was Lawful evil with: ambush drake, bladeling fighter, druid of obah hai, kruthik hatchling and few others. Mightily bad warband was also of CE type(would come first of not for the BYE giving better secondary score than normal WIN): witchknife, cleric of laogzed, obad-hai, cultist of the dragon, scorpioncaln drow fighter, wrackspawn(surprisingly good figure. I was annoyed how good it was), blackscale lizardfolk, derro. Last in the tourney came CG build with elminster and LG build with arcane ballista. LG invariably has high ac, which kills.. | | | |

| /turns on moderator voice Folks - swearing isnt allowed here. Quoting Swears arent allowed. Picking on people or name calling isnt allowed. Lastly Ghendar is right - we have plenty of threads about misc. junk. Plus, this weekend there is a reverse constructed tournament at SoCal, so this is a VERY viable discussion (tho most of the bands discussed dont qualify). jeremiahcarissa - if you dont like the contents of a thread, just move to the next one.

| There is actually quite a bit of benefit to new players if the discussion were to explain why some of these warbands are so bad, why certain figures are so very bad. Maybe then we wouldn't have had so much fun with "Gaze All Day" if it was already known how simply that band could be destroyed.
I learned more about how to play and win in DDM playing bad warbands then I ever did playing Tier 1s. My problem is that I just don't enjoy playing Tier 1 bands and definitely get bored replaying the same band (with the exception of Death Slaads as pointed out to me by legend)
There will be many discussions on these boards that people might not find benefit in but often it is because you have learned the lessons available or the information will not apply to you.
Playing with inferior warbands particularly when both players have inferior warbands will give the strategist a big hand up in the game. Learning what types of abilities are worthless and why will help players make better choices in sealed events. | | Champion of Cyclops

| Reverse Constructed is crazy fun, If you haven't tried it, do. This format is a brilliant way to get use out of those figures that, othewise, you would never use.
Last time I participated in such an event I played; Phoelarch x2 Brass Samurai Wood Woad a bunch of Halfling Sneaks
It was really stinky, no one benefited from the CFX (much), I had to hang the Phoelarches out to dry due to the fact that if they died the pop would auto kill everything else.
The trick is finding Way overcosted figures I think. Phoelarches are a Shoe-in.
Although the Cleric of Yondalla and 4 Iron Golem idea is funny yet almost playable, if you bring bands like that you'll be a genius. 4 Arcane Ballistas and no spell caster support is crooked and would not be allowed in most tournies.
A little off topic, I've deliberately played Flameskull x8 and won a small tourney. * fireballs are fireballs and 8 of em will hurt alot of stuff. | | Two trades completed!! (Krush,Hides From Hurricanes) Champion of the Aaracokra Herald Of Snig Goblin King

200 points that can be distroyed almost completely with just 15 dmg.
Most reverse constructed type scenarios prevent this, but if not, then I think Mondo is the winner. I can't think of anything worse than this. | | Rhane "The focus is sharp in the city..." Have/Want List Reference thread Avatar Thread

| I don't know what the worst warband ever would be per se, but I'd venture to say that the Silver Sorcerer and a Phoelarch would be prominently involved. You could also throw in Rikka, if you wanted. Not because she was a horrible peace, but that you could use her Waylay ability and never put her on the board. | | Champion of the Elf Duskblade | |

| True Johnny, but the idea of reverse constructed isn't to lose.
The idea is to bring the worst load of poo you can find and give it to your opponent to play. He'll give you his pile of performance deficient minis and you two have at it. You still try to win, and Rikka will be waylayed in against your Cleric of Yondalla for his win.

| Posted By Zoons on 11/17/2006 9:26 AM I say you gotta fit some Sages in to make a band stink. Sages? You mean those things that are level 4, have 20 hit points, benefit from commander effects and that you can add your commander rating to morale and rally checks -- all for only 5 points? I used him in an all 'Neutral' warband with some reasonable success (Mordy, 2xGulgar, 3xBarbarian Merc, Sage, Timber Wolf).
Yeah, each faction has better choices but I don't think it's the worse. Lizardfolk holds that honour for me for 5 points.
Anyways, using overcosted Summoners can make a warband pretty bad, which is why they are sometimes banned in the format.
If you're interested in rules we've worked out the following for an upcoming league night: 1. Minimum 198 points. 2. Maximum of one of any creature (exception for number 7. below). 3. 1 or 2 Commanders. 4. Minimum Commander rating of 2. 5. All creatures must be under command. (In other words, many Difficult or Wild creatures might not be usable.) 6. Banned creatures include: Arcane Ballista, creatures with Summons spells, Requires Commander, Requires Dwarf Commander, or Command Dependant. 7. All Minions must be included if a creature gets them and do not count as a creature for the purposes of rule 2. above. 8. Minimum of 2 appropriate creatures must be provided for those that may need them (Lich Necromancer, Mina, etc.) if they are included in the warband. 9. Must have a minimum of 4 activations. 10. Must follow all other normal Warband Building rules (faction, 8 creatures maximum, no more than 70% on any one creature, etc.). 11. The Map you bring is what you'll be playing on and doesn't go with the warband you bring. 12. For each game you'll swap warbands with your opponent so you'll always be playing against the warband you brought.
