I,m curious about which is the most important mini for you along all the sets in skirmish play.I am talking about that creature wich have give you the victory a lot of times. The big boy along the whole history of this game. For me it has been the large silver dragon, the most broken critter for me for a long time. The second has been the orc champion for sure.and you?Which is your more loved mini?

It has been the cursed spirit.  In all formats (100, 200, 500, 1000), I have been playing this peice since my introduction and is the piece I have the most of in my collection.  A proud 58 spirits now grace my collection.

The Couatl has been the most significant piece in my victories so far.

The Zakya Rakshasa has been the most important piece to me.Â

It was huge in the qualifier tournaments and I DID NOT use him at GenCon (fear of belcher warbands) and lost to a SWarm warband as a result.

I will not forsake him again.

Well, maybe for a Firegiant Forgepriest.Â

Snig the Axe has been the most influential unit for me. Not because of his awsome combat prowess but due to the inclusion of his minions. Those extra activations come in real handy, and even more so when play switched over to maps.

Ogre Ravager hands down. Sure it has trouble with high ACs, and is no longer the force it used to be, but it is still usefull, and is the first really big damage hitter to come to CE and DDM in general.

hmmm... Couatl for sure !!

but if i had to choose another one i'd say Helmed Horror. The source of my love for LE. It began with him and i never looked back !! ;-) in its time, i loved the look of my opponent when i showed my warband and there not one but ... TWO of them, it was like i had 20 more point worth of warband !! now it is less dominating, but none the less, i like him !!

set one: displacer beast
set two: probably still displacer beast
... time from then on...
until the duergar champion...

Most consistent piece in the game for me (helmed horror a close second)... i know exactly how much i'm going to get out of him every game (unless i'm playing against Kord and then it's feast or famine)...

Now I await the duergar psychic warrior to stand beside him and LE shall rule the world...

Rock Bottom Pricing:
Arcane Archer 30, Centaur Hero 67, Human Cleric of Bane 25, Gold Champion 34, Death Knight 52, Goblin Blackblade 9, Silentwolf Goblin 7, Orc Raider 10, Dwarf axefighter 9, Healer 9, Thaskor 65, Aspect of Demogorgon 71, Ogre 9, Fire Giant 79, Human Wanderer 7, Drunken Master 18, Barghest 12, Longstider Barbarian 27, Longtooth Barbarian 22, Frost Giant 76, Ravenous Vampire 42, Large Earth Elemental: priceless

The Tiefling Captain, the Orc Champion, and the Ogre Ravager. Probably in that order, too. But, my favourite was GMA'ing up two Goliath Barbarians and a Frenzied Berserker to wipe out my foes.

Strange thing to me: your most useful pieces are in recent sets.I say strange because the most powerful pieces along the history has been in the firsts sets .Examples?Orc champion, eye gruumsh, silver dragon,gauth.....But a lot of people think the best sets are the news.

Don't forget that a lot of people didn't start on the earlier sets and are not willing to dish out $40 for an Orc Champion or a Gauth.

My vote goes for the Coautl, for me, it has let an Arcane Ballistae get off a second shot at opponent's piece (like killing Kord in second round in my last face to face match) - or letting Tordek get an extra swing, or just a near-automatic 15 sonic damage (like against those Damn Monks 2 orbs=MC)
And all those resistances.
I dont run Kordocopia, but the Couatl is great in that band as well.
And its a very "pretty" piece.

Duergar Champion of course..... I love it, I defeat a lot of people with it...... but Im still doubt with Chraal and my great Ogre Mage. Duergar is the virtue of LE warbands, this units change to competative LE warbands.

Large Silver Dragon until the rules change. After that, I have used primarily LE and have run the gammut from Orog warlord, chraal, Helmed Horror, Duergar Champ, Efreeti and so many others. However, the most consistent piece in every LE build has been snig because of the minions ability.

I'll second Duergar Champion. That piece alone made my favorite faction very playable.

Valenar Commander.

What?  I can shoot at anyone I want?  Woot!

I was so excited by the CFX of this guy I ran it in my first 3 tournaments, and got hooked on the game.  Sure, running him with the Halfling Ranger and Halfling Mage wasn't Tier 1 (or 2, or 3), but I won a few games and I kept coming back.  I even ran him with the Centaur WarChief and won a few games.

You are right Ryoga, i Used to play Ogre Mage with chraal,a lot of ice damage cones. But 35 HP is a difficult to play this purple ogre! But i neveer defeated with it. Now i only play it ocassionally.

The Timberwolf - Tile points are so very important in close games and this piece gets them for any faction.

You're so right.  Here we are talking about "key" pieces like Couatls and Orc Champions, but how many key games in qualifiers and championships have come down to wins of less than 10 points?
