Hello, I`m looking for some feedback on the following warband:

Elf Pyromancer

Nebin, Gnome Illusionist

Mialee, Elf Wizard

War Chanter

Xeph Warrior

Rikka, Angelic Avenger

Wemic Barbarian

Gnome Trickster

Map is the Dragondown grotto.

Strategy: EP gives nice immunity and fireball triggers the wemic`s bravado early on. If not, Imp.Count might. Blur both hitters and then Inv.Sphere to protect Warchanter. His CFX helps rikka. Endgame usually Rikka heals wemic. Went 3-1 on a tourny with it.

Here is the link for the D&D shoebox page, if you can leave feedback both here and there, it would be nice (that is sucha good resource for warband building):

Also take some time to browse trough my warband gallery, there are some more there I would like your input:

Thanks a lot!

I see one gigantic problem: You have only two hitters, Wemic & Rikka. Against bands that have up to four good hitters, you'll get creamed. I'd switch out some tech for some beef.

I agree with Orion--too much tech and too few hitters. Even with an invisible Warchanter, saves of Rikka are by no means guaranteed, and a good player should be able to minimize the damage a fireball does while closing, even on an open map like Dragondown Grotto.

I'll third it.Â

Way too much tech.  Rikka's low level means she'll run off the board.Â

With all the ne CG pieces from Blood War, there is an awful lot of beef and hitters you can add to your warband.Â

The Wemic is a good start for a CG hitter.  Try building around that.Â

Everybody has said you need less tech and more hitters (and I agree), but no one has made any suggestions. My main suggestion in order to gain at least one more hitter is to drop Nebin (at least). I like the idea of keeping the War Chanter invisible the entire game and the Gnome Trickster has a lot of other tricks up his sleeve - so keep him.

As far as another hitter is concerned, I'd go for something cheap and straightforward like a Half-Ogre Barbarian. Have Mailee give him Magic Weapon and move him into position while he's invisible. Nebin is only 18 points, so you couldn't do a straight swap. But Rikka + Nebin is 49 points and two Half-Ogre Barbarians are 50 points... so if you drop the wemic (53 points) for a Frenzied beserker (52 points), you'll be in business! Of course that makes your warband a non-wemic band... oh well

So I'm suggesting:

Elf Pyromancer
Mailee
Frenzied Berserker
2x Half-Ogre Barbarian
Warchanter
Xeph Warrior
Gnome Trickster

That sounds like fun, I think I'll try it!

OR , if you want to keep the Wemic, you could swap out the warchanter for the Inspiring Marshal - probably a better choice anyways! I always liked casting Pro. Fire on my own mini, using GMA to move them in with my enemies minis and then casting fireball on my own mini! Good times...

Two Beaters ins't that bad. I remember a CG Two Beater band coming top 1 and 5 in europe as well as 3-4 and 12 in the last Championship...

But it's the combination of Beaters that makes the warband good. In your case I would drop Rikka and Nebin for a second Beater like Frenzied Berserker, another Wemic or the Warforged Barbarian. As I'm playing CG a lot I would chance the Warchanter to the IM giving you more strike distance, or (much better) giving you a full attack in your engagement phase. And I really tried to include the Gnome Trickster, but with two Beaters and the IM/Warchanter you only have one spot for a 25 to 30ish figure. For me that spot is filled with the Pyro. Resistance as well as Immunity and the Fireball for Bravado are to good.
