| Maybe if I quit winning so much my friends would allow for more than two games in a weekend... probably not though...
game one wasn't much to speak of...
Lg green green razor fiend soulknife soulknife urthok darkmoon t wolf
basically a modifed version of the inspired lt band i played a few weeks ago to see if the +16 charging smiting sneaking soulknifes were the real deal... unfortunately i didn't get the chance to use them even...
my very inexperienced opponent
centaur warhulk branali air genasi swashbuckler gnome trix inspiring marshal fodder
didn't really know what he was doing
played on the dungeon of blood
2nd round the centaur warhulk missed the razorfiend and the razorfiend made his save from getting slid into the pit... two hits on the warhulk and a failed save vs breath from the lg green and my opponenet wanted to call it after he routed off the board! caught the branali and a xeph in the cone too but made branali save. after i moved the green up for the flank on the branali and set up the soulknife charge my opponent conceded as i moved the darkmoon with true strike up towards his invis timber wolf...not much of a game so thats all i'll say (except that I was going to try out a hellcat and HH band for LE until i realized with blindsight his band would have been auto loss)...
2nd match was much better...maybe
Me: Thundertusk thundertusk CoO Warweaver hammerer hammerer hammerer mialee
Ive been dying to play around with the thundertusk since i saw his stats and it seemed like the most fun band to play at the time... making sure the thundertusk had mw, greater res, and was more than 12 from the exit was the key and buffing the hammerers and using them to shield was the tactics
I still almost cried when i saw my opponents shadowdancers on the otherside... storm shadow x4 trix xeph
dungeon of blood again!
I set up on "bad" side which let me hide and buff for 2 rounds without too much fear from the shadowdancers as they couldn't get all four on one piece at once...
third round I lost init and watched the four invisa jump one of my thundertusks... invis flanking shadow dancers still need a 5 though... only 3 of four hit!... pig took one down to 20 and I stunned that one with a command from the CoO. hammerers moved to engage and landed two blows on one dancer (one got rolled away) and mialee took on a the xeph who missed her... Storm silverfired all three hammerers and the gnome tried to slide one in the pit but he made his save... second pig was out of position to do anythingbut smash the stunned dancer (since the other one he could reach would just def roll and get an AoO) so i took it out even though I really wanted to be able to use one of my hammerers to do it...
4th round I lost init again and one of the dancers took out the injured pig... whose death strike hit another dancer, the otherone jumped over to my warweaver and hit her... then my hammerers came to bear! killing the other injured dancer and injuring storm... storm took out one of the hammerers, tried another stun but no good... Left over pig takes off the last dancers def roll and bases storm with the rest of his move after pushing back the dancer on the warweaver...
5th round... won init... hit storm with both atts and she made her moral but a third swing via snakes swiftness took her out...
---------------------------------------------------------------- moral of the story... shadowdancer ac's can't handle multiple swings for 20 from even moderate att bonuses... shadowdancers are scary but not unbeatable...
Analysis:
Thundertusks- wow... do a drive by on a weak piece and base a powepiece after it activates and win init for a good chance at 60 dmg (via snakeswift). I didn't get to play get behind the hammers game but found them just as able to stand up to melee as well as mouted drive bys... don't know about 2 in one warband but this game got me thinking. MW and Major Res are a must... Sheild of faith is an if possible... very good LG piece! A single low 3o's hitter will make for fun LG quads!
Warweaver- versatility! with three hammerers look out... unsure if the hammerers really really need her to make it though... the extra 5 dmg might be too nice though... Snakes swift is a must in LG as much as I hate to say it... dimension hop opens up fun tactical options.
Hammerers- with the warweaver these little tin men are very hard to say no to. Unsure if they stand up without the warweaver yet though in the prerealease i loved the one I had so that deserves looking into.
Storm- i don't think my opponent played her well enough this time but last time she schooled me big time. She still gets a nod as if I hadn't won init and been in SS position she would have been able to put more hurt on me. She's worth it but has to be piloted extra carefully in a shadowdancer band as she's more vulnerable without hitters in front of her but has to be close for CFX.
Shadowdancers- I don't believe all the hype...yet... in my first encounter with them it came down to a dice roll basically even though i won soundly... if they would have taken out my first thundertusk (or routed him) in the engagement round I would have been down to almost half capacity right then. either one one of those would have changed the game dramatically. The new question i suppose is do you go for commander automatically or try for the homerun on a hitter? My biggest concern is that even middling hitters can crush dancers fast (see hammerers) as thier ac isn't enough to carry the day.
Trixter- lots of trix that turn into treats when they work... I've seen him twice and that invis sphere is meta changing... though the more familiar I get with it the easier it will be to counter. After saying that of course I realized that experience piloting the invisible warbands will then counter my experience dealing with it. Meta changing...

| Nice report, thx for taking the time for writing up this info. very valuable.
As for the Thundertusk cavalry, i also beleive it can be in a quad LG anytime. mounted melee attack is such a good ability. Now if only those tusk had wings !! ;-) | | «I didn't came to play, i came to win» - Kamahl, Pit Fighter | |

| I would be careful to write off the Dancers just yet. Based on your report, but not knowing what line of sight there was or protection you put up, against your band I think a dancers band would be smarter to use its first 4 - "becoming visible sneak attacks" to quite likely take out the Cleric and the then Weaver. Both have AC's that can be hit at +15, both face a MC when taking 20 damage and both are killed when taking 40.
Trying to take out a Tusk is a nice idea as far as limiting offense, but losing your init bonus, no CR bonus to MC's (the tusks are only at +7) and possibly also losing the SS and dim hop would be crippling.
It is likely that you do get to use MW and BStrength before this all happens, so the Weaver isnt wasted
But I do agree that Hammerers are a great piece, esp against dancers, and they are IMHO the best War weaver companion to date. | | Champs 2007 Top 16, Team Amish Class of 2007 Seeking Northern NJ DDM'ers - "There can be only one" (I hope not) Champion of the Doppleganger | |

| haven't written them off... just underwhelmed in my first encounter after all the hype here... I did basically "hide" for a round and a half to buff then actually offered up the CoO and weaver as bait that he didn't take so good move on his part... I agree that taking out the CoO would have been probably the best move as the moral on pigs would be 50/50 shot...
Once again inexperience can account for something here... I would have expected a close game at least...
dancers are still hot... i just don't know about 4 of them... | | Rock Bottom Pricing: Arcane Archer 30, Centaur Hero 67, Human Cleric of Bane 25, Gold Champion 34, Death Knight 52, Goblin Blackblade 9, Silentwolf Goblin 7, Orc Raider 10, Dwarf axefighter 9, Healer 9, Thaskor 65, Aspect of Demogorgon 71, Ogre 9, Fire Giant 79, Human Wanderer 7, Drunken Master 18, Barghest 12, Longstider Barbarian 27, Longtooth Barbarian 22, Frost Giant 76, Ravenous Vampire 42, Large Earth Elemental: priceless | |
