| Just wondering what you guys can come up with for a silver sorcerer band, I always try on and off trying to get this guy to work because for some reason i just really like him. Now with Storm+SS+elf dragonkith(s) he might be competitive. So what can you guys come up with??

| Dragonmark might also help this figure. Storm+SS+Dragonkith+Dragonmark...
I also liked this figure. Won my first tourney with this figure in my warband. | | Greyhaze's DDM Spoilers Champion of a Medium Dog & then a Darkenbeast , Raistlin Majere, Nightmare WDQ25/60, Warduke WD60/60, Anti-Champion of Guns, "Knight of Bugbears", and Joke Champion of Venger. | Oh God.

I played a Silver Sorcerer in the Maxminis event at GenCon 2005 and had only one loss. Of course, in Sealed, a Silver Sorcerer and a Chuul are an amazing team.
This is quite a challenge.
Storm Silverhand Silver Sorcerer Shadowdancer x3 Tavern Brawler Xeph Warrior x2
In 500-point, it's much easier, just start with Bahamut...

| Dragonmark Heir isn't a bad idea, since it's such a pain keeping the sorcerer alive to do stuff. The thing is, you can't give him everything you might want, because he also needs blockers to prevent his spells from being shut down, and with offensive ability being fairly short range, you want to give him allies with a serious ranged threat to bring the enemy incautiously to you.
I think the Bralani Eladrin makes a great ally for the guy. He has a decent ranged attack, he's immune to the lightning bolts, and his whirlwind blast can push enemies out of base contact with the sorcerer, which is a decent alternative to having good blockers. Celestial Pegasus makes a good blocker, I think, with spell resistance and resist electricity 10. Rikka could make a good support hitter, since she also has SR and res elec 10.
57 Storm 49 Silver Sorcerer 35 Bralani Eladrin 38 Elf Dragonkith 06 Devis 09 Celestial Dire Badger (just because he has spell resistance and resist electricity 5) 06 Xeph Warrior x2
I don't know if I really like it much, but Silver Sorcerer is a really tough challenge. Maybe dropping Storm and Dragonkith in favor of a cheaper commander and a couple Pegasi is a better way to go. (And, yes, lantern, you're right that Storm and Devis are a bit redundant.) | | "Before God we are all equally wise - and equally foolish." - Albert Einstein Champion of Myopic Half-Orcs Winner, WBC X

| | Don't really have anything better than what's been said for the 200 pt arena, but in 500 pt the following could get sort of nasty. Storm Silverhand, Dragonmark HoD, Storm Giant, Silver Sorcerer, a couple of Crow Shaman. | | Over 270 successful online DDM trades. | |

With Storm isn't Devis redundant?
Here is my entry
Storm Silverhand
Silver Sorcerer
Elf Dragonkith
Gnome Trickster
Graycloak Ranger
Wolf (minion)
Sharn Cutthroat
Crested Felldrake
My concerns with this warband were the poky speed of the Dragonkith and the extreme fragility of the Silver Sorcerer. I liked the idea posted above to use the whirlwind to move opponents away from the Silver, but that didn't help out the Dragonkith. I decided that the Gnome Trickster was a way to help with both of those. The Invisibility Sphere allows the Silver to move unmolested to position the lightning bolts optimally. It also protects the Dragonkith while it closes to the fight and gives it a bonus on its first attack. I was going to avoid using the Felldrake, but I didn't like having to have the Silver so close to the fight. I felt keeping it next to the Dragonkith gave away some of the advantage of the line spells and made it difficult to fire them without hitting him. If I make the Felldrake invisible I give myself a lot more flexibility to maneuver the Silver while keeping the Dragonkith boosted. I liked the Sharn for its sidestep and think it can help with flanking. The Graycloak gives me a ranged option as well as bringing along the wolf for invisible tile grabbing.

| Once Unhallowed comes out, I can see potential new options...
57 - Storm Silverhand 49 - Silver Sorceror 12 - Bat Familiar x 2 35 - Bralani Eladrin 28 - Shadowdancer 15 - Graycloak Ranger xx - Wolf (Minion) 04 - Jozan, Cleric of Pelor
200/9
The bats deliver Blur and Fly as needed, freeing Storm and the Silver Sorc to double move into position. They also screen for the two, and help with activations. Jozan is there to provide that 5 points of healing (if it can help), replace with a Tavern Brawler if you'd rather go that way.

I realize Storm makes a good match with the Silver Sorcerer, but her cost makes every Storm/SS band I can come up with look too weak. The Pegasi make good assassins or blockers, whichever you happen to need. If blurring them will make them more survivable, you have that option. The Dark Traveler can make them more formidable by giving them reach. The Eladrin also makes a good fighter for alongside the SS, especially with reach. Maybe it won't be as tough as Storm and a Dragonkith, but this band should keep the SS alive longer. | | "Before God we are all equally wise - and equally foolish." - Albert Einstein Champion of Myopic Half-Orcs Winner, WBC X

| Here's a figure I LOVE but it's just so pricey for something so squishy.
Storm Silverhand 57 Silver Sorcerer 49 106 Dragomark Heir 34 140 Half-Ogre Barbarian 25 165 Steelheart Archer 15 180 Graycloak Ranger 15 195 T-Wolf minion free Timber Wolf 5 200
Work as a ranged band throwing Electricity immunity on the Half-Ogre most matches and blast through he and Storm when combat is joined. If you're worried about DR or cover on Mithril Mines, swap the Steelheart and wolf for a Half-Elf Sorcerer and Mialee.
In Epic, she's good to pair with Elminster where 49 points of squish won't hurt you as much. | | Champion of Prit(Wemic vindication is here) Minneapolis/St. Paul area Completed trades: Aspect of Cheese (Love that moniker), Tickparasite, Elderthing, Lalato, Sodj, Grimoire, SmilinIrish, Zeb, RWarehall,Link, wikkawikkawa, Auramancer, Rommers, HK, Ivid5,Qillan_dvra, Puggins, Arcabius, Ironfist Boulderbender, Robby, Corim Danex, monster_slayer, DNDJUNKIE, Kelemvor, Krush, ckissee, Massawyrm, hockey fan, Wish, Uninspiring Lieutenant, vtloon x2, Vrecknidj, Darthpoke, WakeXX, AnarionZell, lycusmike, papabear5 and umpteen local trades with board members

Yeah, I wonder how two Clay Golems, a Silver Sorcerer, and a Storm (maybe an Epic Storm) would do in Epic format.
I have my first Epic Tournament this weekend but I probably will go with something else.

The Sorcerer can lightning bolt through Silverhand and the Bralani as they are all Immune Electricity, and because of the Electricity Healing, Silverhand can engage sooner than normal.

I really like the core of storm+SS+bralani x2 in this band, I think i
might try a similar band at my next tourney to see how it can do.

| | The only time I've played SS was in 500 with epic storm, epic griffon rider, centaur warhulk, valenar nomad charger, elf warrior, timber wolf, zeph warrior. put fly and blur on centaur, in the first round, then fly on valenar and blur on storm in the second round. Played soth, iron golem, dark naga, beholder x2, artemis entreri, gauth, greenspawn sneak on tomb of queen peregrin. I took out the iron golem with my griffon rider, but lost him to beholder rays (stone I think, his saves are so low). let the valenar get out of range of commander effect, and artemis routed him off the board with a ranged backstab. when I lost the warhulk to beholders, I called the game, as I only had storm left, vs soth, gauth, and both beholders. She'd have been making 6 saves a round blus taking 15 auto fire, and hits from soth. | | E-mail | Have/Want List | Reference thread "Whatever you do, don't drop a blade barrier on a troll."
