| Hi all, I've been playing too little recently, and feel more or less out of touch with the game. So, what's the faction balance today? Are the factions balanced well? What are the hottest names for each faction?
I guess that CG cought up pretty well in BW - I love Storm (it looked cool enough for me to fetch it just for that ) and looking at current thread, I'm not the only one. Oh and shadowdancers of course are on surface.
Wardrummer must still be a necessity for CE. What else for chaotics? What's hot for Lawful factions? Elf Warmage at least feels pretty impressive.

| What I'm wondering is why there is only an Epic toolkit these days... what happened to the other one?

The 200 pt Constructed Toolkits were pulled back during the Community schism last year. You can find partial ones (old ones and some partial updated ones) on our sister station - Hordelings.Â
There has been a fairly large discussion on how usefult they might be today (again over at the sister station) and that a new style / format / TBD might be in order. And I totally agree.Â

Current hot pieces:
LG Thundertusks Kolyarut Elf Dragonkith (mostly in CG)
CG Storm Silverhand Shadowdancers Valenar Nomad Charger Bralani Eladrin
LE Firegiant Forgepriest
CE Marilith Vlaakith
LG/LE Maugs Dragonmark Heir
That about sums up the current hot pieces (although I may have missed a few).Â

Well that explains a lot. See... leave for a few months, come back, and wonder why things got so quiet around here compared to how it used to be...

Btw, what about Acheron Goblins, are they too weak after all? They rock for their cost with Snig or Urthok. | | Greyhaze's DDM Spoilers Champion of a Medium Dog & then a Darkenbeast , Raistlin Majere, Nightmare WDQ25/60, Warduke WD60/60, Anti-Champion of Guns, "Knight of Bugbears", and Joke Champion of Venger. | There are a lot of hot pieces right now, I think.
CG: Storm, Bralani, Air Genasi, Shadowdancer, Gnome Trickster, but, also, there's plenty of fun left in some of the older pieces including Inspiring Marshal, Frenzied Berserker, Archmage, Valenar Nomad Charger, Wand Expert, Crow Shaman, Xen'drik Champion, and even the Half-Ogre Barbarian when it's with Storm.
LE: Firegiant Forgepriest, Dragonmark Heir, Maug, Duergar Champion, Zakya Rakshasa, Large Green Dragon, and Urthok, Rakshasa, and Snig still get mention as commanders, as goes the Red Hand War Sorcerer; some folks have been talking about Horned Devil, Lord Soth and Steel Predators too.
CE: Vlaakith is getting some attention, and, with her, some older pieces are seeming potentially useful. The Orc Champion is still discussed regularly. Not everyone plays an Orc Wardrummer, but, it's definitely worth considering. The Marilith seems to be sought-after by at least a handful of players.
LG: The usual, plus Kolyarut and Maug. The Sacred Watcher is still prevalent, and may outnumber Gith Monks this year.

From which it does not, however, follow, that those bands aren't lurking in the shadows. I think that Korducopia and GAS are still viable in the current meta. (I don't think they're at the top anymore though.)

| | I'm not sure how much invisibility adds to the FBs, particularly with the GMA. The GMA essentially allows them to get into position without taking attacks anyway, which is essentially what invisibility does. The only advantage of invisibility would be protection from ranged attacks, but that seems fairly minor. In an Inspired Frenzy band, I'd much rather play a Crow Shamen for the Snake's Swiftness. | | Call me: W.N. Gobo! originally posted by grim: While he is clearly insane, he does have a point. | |

| Posted By Vrecknidj on 02/01/2007 7:15 PM I wonder how FB x3 + Rikka will do in the current environment.
Dave That's the warband Lord Raven played last year - his "Brady Bunch":
x3 FB Rikka Elf Warrior x3 Xeph
200 pts 8 activations
It can be a very tough matchup, at any time.Â

| Just how many peices in today's warband builds for 200pts can hit an AC of 28... or even 30?
I'm betting not a whole lot, and if there are, they'd take up most of your warband. | | May you find peace and happiness at the hand of Hextor.
