| Ive been thinkering trying to build a decent warband with the Tsucora Quori. Since i dont have a dark traveler , im using his Psionic envoy to bring in the Caller in Darkness. Im thinking a 55 hp incorporal undead is very good, also because of the Tsucora Quori all the dc of psionic powers of the Caller are now at +2 dc, Mind trush is now dc: 17 and Death urge is dc: 18.
Next part Commander. Well the Inspired Lieutenant seem to made to go with the Tsucora Quori, with the cmd effet his bonus to attack goes from +15 to +19 . also the dc of the psionic spells ahve there dc at +2 so hostile empathic transfer is now dc: 17.
so now ive got 3 activations and 165 points used... so only 35 points left for filler and tec.
Inspired Lieutenant 45 points Tsucora Quori 67 points Caller in Darkness 53 points 165 points
35 points left. So a couple of possible options :
3 X 3 Inspired Shock Trooper 33 points or 2 bat familiar 12 points (one tied to the Inspired Lieutenantand one to a Shock trooper) 2 X Inspired Shock Trooper 22 Total of 34 points or Vargouille 12 points 2 X Inspired Shock Trooper 22 points Total 34 points points or Vargouille 12 points 1 X Inspired Shock Trooper 11 points 1X Bat familiar 6 points 1 X Greenspawn Sneak 6 points Total of 35 points
The Troopers if under command with be hitting at +9 for 5 dom (which is low) but the the first attack to hit will have a +15 acid dammage. Aslo can use 2 times its Dissipating touch 10 auto damage or use it once and have 3 burst of speed (+2 speed one activation) Or have 6 times the burst of speed. My first impresing will be that most of the time i will be using one or 2 burst of speed per game and one dissipating touch.
Since the Inspired Lieutnent can use its hostile empathic transfer 2 times and its a range of touch im going to include a bat familiar. This will give me the possibilty of using the spell twice in teh same round dealing from 10 to 25 damage and healing the same amount on each casting. This alone will help keep the commander alive longer and will help to concentrate dammage on one target.
Now this choice im not really sure about. the caller in darkness can destroy any creature that is sleeping or is parylized. Looking at my minis i see the Vargouille. It can Paralyse all creatures within 6 squares dc:12. The dc is low but a 1 is a 1 and and lot of warbands are using level 7-8 creatures also (ex: shadowdancers). ok so lets go with this one .Â
The 35 points left is the aprt im not sure about. Any sugestion and/or comments how to best build a band around the Tsucora Quori ?

| | The one possible use of the gargoyle is as bait- since it still presents something of a threat, your opponant will be likely to attack it, so if played correctly will lure a piece out for destruction. The problem is that it's so dang slow its almost impossible to expose to the enemy when it would be most useful... | | Call me: W.N. | I posted the same topic a few weeks back and some further ideas are contained there in. The LINK to that thread is:

I kinda like the following option:
Inspired LT 45 pts Tsucora Quori 67 pts Blue 5 pts Duergar Champion 33 Duergar Champion 33 Inspired Shock Trooper 11 x2 3 Pt Fodder (or Bat Familiar)

I like this one. I think it has the most damage output and can be pretty hard to take down. I would probably just fill out the activations to 8. I am not a big fan of putting the bat familair on the inspired shock trooper. | | Champion of the Brainstealer Dragon Desert of Desolation Called Shot: Medium Brown Dragon ***Winner of WBC VIII and XII***

| I actually played a variant of this over the weekend (without reading this thread, of course). As I recall, my warband was something like this:
Inspired Lieutenant (45 points) Tsucora Quori (67 points) Caller in Darkness (53 points) 2 x Inspired Shock Trooper (22 points) 2 x Kobold Monk (10 points) Kobold Miner (3 points)
To explain the three kobolds, I don't have the greatest selection of minis ever, so I used them as convenient (and somewhat speedy) fodder. In fact, I hoped to use the monks' stunning attack so that the caller's steal essence ability could come into play. Obviously, with a DC of 13, my opponent never failed any stunning attack saves.
I played against an ogre executioner/mind flayer telepath warband on the City of Peril "sewers" map (don't remember the exact name).
To get to the point, my psionic warband tore the opposition apart. The Tsucora Quori (a piece I wasn't terribly excited about pulling, as I primarily use minis for rpg) was a pretty decent beater, and the caller's ability to move through walls made the game. | | "Clearly a case of too many hunchbacks and not enough mad scientists..."

| Kobold Monks are excellent 5-point fodder.
Hmmm, if one goes with Tsucorai Quori and Caller in Darkness why not add good old Gauth. His DC´s aren´t high but you may get two chances to stun and paralyse every activation. That leaves you with 41 points for a commander and fodder/tile grabber (I´d take Half-Orc Fighter, 3 x Blue and a T-Wolf). That´s a lot of ranged damage in form of spells/rays. Play it on grotto or frostfell rift. I´d play this for fun. | | German championship 12.05.07 in Berlin --------------------------------------------------------------------- Want to play DDM in Berlin, Germany? http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/dndminisberlin/

| I played this exact band a couple weeks back. With Vargouille. Unfortunately Vargouille didnt last long enough to even see whether he might have paralyzed anyone for the Caller to destroy.

Steal Essence works only if th enemy miniature is Paralyze or sleep! Doesn´t work with Stun. | | Againts the Giants Called Shot: Cattie Bri. Dungeon of Dread Called Shot: Cockatrice. Like I said, I don't skirmish much (usually use the minis for rpg purposes). I was thinking that for the purposes of DDM that stun and paralyze were the same effect.

D. Would you still take the Inspired Lt. as the commander? That´s 179 points, there´s not much room left. Maybe it´s better with a cheaper commander like RHWS or Urthok.
Or go with Half-Orc Fighter and add a Duergar Champion. | | German championship 12.05.07 in Berlin --------------------------------------------------------------------- Want to play DDM in Berlin, Germany? http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/dndminisberlin/

I suppose I'd use the RHWS for his commander effect. too bad DMHD just won't fit in there anymore, would have been a fun 4-activation warband.

D. Ah you too
So maybe I should about something else then. A Tsucora mirrormatch might not be fun...
I think the most interesting commander for the Tsucora is the RHWS, since the Tsucora doesn't need the +4 to hit (IMO). Another fun combination might be with the Pit Fiend. the damage boost is really needed.
