My son and I will be in a team event this weekend- low preasure more fun then competative. Here's th LE list we're toying with, your thoughts on tweeking or best tactics/ use would be helpful:
Shuluth
Duergar Champ
Duergar Slaver
Goblin Underboss
Goblin Blackblade
Silent Wolf Goblin
Achaierai (because my son feels a warbands not woth playing w/out a big monster)

Thanks, Andy

Andy,

Shuluth is a fun piece, and offers lots of opportunities to think through strategies and rules. The timing of attacks, around him, for instance, can be very important. And, this lets players get used to things like Stun and Commander Effect triggers.

The Duergar Champ is the best piece on the list. In my view, every LE band has to have a reason not to include this piece--that's how good he is.

The Duergar Slaver offers LE some interesting new options, since some pieces can really benefit from invisibility. But, if you're running a band that really can't benefit all that much from invisibility, I don't think he's worth it. In this band, maybe making the Achaierai invisible would be good, to prevent him from being targeted by things until he can get his inky blackness power to work.

The Goblins you listed are all fine pieces for low-level competition. If you're playing for fun, or if you're playing themed bands, they're okay.

I'm not a fan of the Dire Chicken, but, I understand your son's motivation.

What's the nature of the "team" portion of the event, I haven't seen much in the way of team play in DDM.

The team is faction specific- we'll both play LE, and 100pts each team member

Ah, I see. That's interesting. Is there a figure limit? Or is it just 100 points?
