| From the 4e Player's Handbook:
A wall fills a specified number of contiguous squares within range, starting from an origin square. Each square of the wall must share a side--not just a corner--with at least one other square of the wall, but a square can share no more than two sides with other squares in the wall (this limitation does not apply when stacking squares on top of each other). You can shape the wall however you like within those limitations. A solid wall, such as a wall of ice, cannot be created in occupied squares. I really like this mechanic. I can see some future mini having something like this Special Power.
[] [] Wall of Fire (Wall 8, within 10) +15 vs DEF (Fort); 10 fire Damage AND 10 ongoing fire Damage. On its turn, a creature adjacent to a Wall of Fire square automatically takes 5 fire Damage; each square of movement through such spaces causes an additional 5 fire Damage. Special: while the Wall of Fire exists, any creature moving through a square occupied by the Wall of Fire +15 vs DEF (Fort); 10 fire Damage AND 10 ongoing fire Damage, 5 fire Damage on a miss. Wall of Fire squares are both difficult and Smoke terrain. Creatures with Immune Fire ignore the difficult terrain aspect.

| Seems like a powerful mechanic. You're adding a permanent fixture to the battlefield. Therefor, (wall 8) might be too much. Maybe (wall 3). Unless your talking about a 100+ point figure. | | | |

| | Heh.. I think our original poster intends for it to be at least quasi-permanent; the 'Special' bit would make absolutely no sense. Also, how it's worded also seems just like line effect, only you can make it be whatever shape you prefer (speaking of which, wouldn't it be nice to see something like that? A line spell.. ahem, ability... that you could choose where it went as opposed to a straight line? hehe...). Perhaps more like "till the end of this creature's next turn" would be appropriate. I think having it be a permanent addition to the battlefield could very easily flirt with 'broken'. | | Champion of the Kruthik Hivemaster!

| Two points.
1) A spell like this could last simply as long as, say, a fireball. 2) A spell like this could last until the end of the caster's next turn. 3) A spell like this could last until the end of the battle.
But...
1) We already have a mechanic for this sort of things with other abilities, like breath weapons and fireballs. 2) This would be cool and kinda new. 3) This would be broken.
