| I was just fiddling around in D&D Miniatures Assistant (my preferred warband builder) and I stumbled on the following cute warband:
Large White Dragon x3 96
Large Ice Elemental x3 84
Elf Archer x4 20
10 acts, 200 points
Sure, your ACs and defenses are low, but you've got a whopping 480 hp for your opponent to chew through. In addition, the dragons can (potentially) heal the ice elementals with their breaths, for extra hp. On top of all this, you get three rounds where creatures adjacent to the Ice elementals are effectively immobilized for two turns.
Meanwhile, the elf arches sit in back and plink away.
I so want to play this when Unhallowed becomes legal.

... or anything with an AC higher than 20. I've already fallen into this trap. Hardcore theme warbands are super fun to make, but right now the 'cold' theme is fairly weak. It's a good shot, though: I really want to find a use for my LWD and LIE (nice acronym) to be in the same warband while being competitive at the same time. Ah well, maybe in AtG. | |
