So, let's talk about it. Everyone at the championship will play twice on this sucker.
The map is great for ranged and flight. It's pretty awful for slow non-fliers. Controlling the teleporters can totally change the game in a very short time.

| This, as well as the jungle temple, will make range even more valuable. Wild Mages and Driders are looking strong.

| | Darkmantles and other wandering dudes seem to be king on this map because of the location of the teleporters, you want one to start on your own side to block/control it. | | | |

| A guy I played against made the mistake of sending all kinds of things through the teleporter, but in serial fashion so that I could keep killing them. He lost a bunch of fodder that way.
I think Kevizoid said in another post somewhere that he likes the Gelatinous Cube for this map. That may be, but no one is going to be playing that at the championships, I'll bet.

Dave I would not count on this. There just may be someone crazy enough to play the Cube on the 3 Championship maps. 80 Invisible HP for a cost of 28 can go a long way towards blocking all the crazy charging (can you say Wild Elf Warsinger).Â

| I like the G-cube for a blocker for ranged bands on these maps. The fact that you block the teleporter instantly no matter what was kind of cool.
Oh and I plan on playing on this map more than twice at the championships Dave =P | | SoCal Colluder | |

| Presently, I've found quite a few bands that can get across the river quickly. Of everything I've tested, the dual Efreeti Flamestrider band, in the hands of a player skilled in its use, dominates on this map thanks to the Fiery Teleport.
However, the odds that you're going to face that band on this map aren't so high. As such, there are a lot of alternatives. With those alternatives, I've found a couple Civilization bands I like, one Wild band I like, and one Borderlands band I like. I have not found any Underdark bands that I feel are consistently viable on this map.
Anyone found anything particularly different?
Anyone care to say so, one way or the other?

| The water blows so what I try and do is is slow spacing. I would want to see the opponents set up first and, depending on mine and his/her warband, set up accordingly.

Dave I agree that Efreetis do not mind the map.Â
This IMO is one of the toughest maps to plan for / play on. There are so many set up options and things to keep track of pending what your opponent has and how he sets up. It hurts my head.Â
And I also agree that I think there are some Civilizatiom Borderlands, and Wild warbands that can do well on this map.Â
And for Underdark, do not underrate LshD, Astral Stalkers, Shadowdancers on this map. With Hide, no target for Efreeti. Shadowjump gets them across the map in crazy fashion and can set up nice flanks.Â

| | the thing I like least about his map is nearly every game I've played on it (casual or competetive) comes to time before points. For me that is horrible! Only 2 losses in 2.0 so far for me when a game plays to points... It's a lot worse for games that go to time. | | Rock Bottom Pricing: Arcane Archer 30, Centaur Hero 67, Human Cleric of Bane 25, Gold Champion 34, Death Knight 52, Goblin Blackblade 9, Silentwolf Goblin 7, Orc Raider 10, Dwarf axefighter 9, Healer 9, Thaskor 65, Aspect of Demogorgon 71, Ogre 9, Fire Giant 79, Human Wanderer 7, Drunken Master 18, Barghest 12, Longstider Barbarian 27, Longtooth Barbarian 22, Frost Giant 76, Ravenous Vampire 42, Large Earth Elemental: priceless | |

| I played a match on this map last week that had no points scored after 6 rounds. On the seventh round, I killed an 11-point piece and I won 11-0.

| Efreeti Flamestriders love the map, as do any pieces with powers that have a range of sight, a radius of two, and that face bands that are trying to walk across the river.

Otherwise, I still hate the map.Â
