Anatax comes back through the wood work. The lizard man has probably not slept at all these past hours.

The lizard folk turns to Aku.
"I sssenssse much blood will be ssspilled today...." Anatax considers for a moment. "If posssible, it may be besst for the flyersss to look and sssee what thisss camp looksss like. It could be dangerousss, though."
Anatax waits for the groups answer.

"You and the others who share our ability to see in darkness, should be near myself. I can cloak us in a cloud of pure darkness. They will never see us coming. All we need is... a reason for a dark cloud to be moving nearby. Perhaps some burning camp tents?" Says Razor, casting a look towards Alina.

Markham, put the books down and lets get ready to leave.
Alina and markham fly into the air with a look back, Alina tells the group, "Signal me when you are ready and we will torch the place"
Alina and Marham then turn into thier dragon form the disappear into the sky.
Markhams unicorn companion stands with the group ready to move out, always ready to tends to others needs.

| Anatax watches the dragons fly off somewhat enviously, then turns his attention to sorting the herbs he found in the night. With any luck there shouldn't be any need for them, but one can never be too careful.
After a few minutes, Anatax backs off from the camp and motions to Razor that he is ready to get under way.

| Alina flys past the camp and turns around headed back to the encampment. Her head flails back.
Markham, head flailed back lets go a tremendous ball of fire and sprays it from side to side.
Alina sees Markham set the camp on fire and she lets loose moving the flames from the opposite side of markham to the other.
The 2 dragons pass one another then Markham turns around and catches up to Alina.
The dragons turn invisable again.
They reappear at the groups encampment for a touch of rest before they head out with the group. | |

| During this period, Anatax lurks closer to the enemy camp. Seeing more trolls and the occassional ice troll milling about near its edges, he sticks to the dense forest.
Drawing nearer Anatax makes out the orc soldiers feasting upon a healthy helping of mutton. The camp seems alive with activity, and the meal is being hastily consumed. Issueing forth from a tent is a great, seven foot tall orc wearing dirty chainmail and wielding a massive great axe. His face has been badly scarred, leaving the commander with only one working eye. Around the orc's neck is a golden crest of the sun, a highly religious object to Anatax's tribe. This causes the lizardfolk to snarl briefly before catching himself.
Coming behind the orc is a well-dressed human of an apparently aristocratic stock. The human walks up to the orc and appears worried about something. The two exchange a furious conversation which Anatax cannot make out. The human raises his arms in the air in disgust, and then prepares to leave. The orc yells something and cleaves off the human's head with his axe. The commander then barks some orders and points in the direction of the fire. A few of the orcs start to move.

| A look of shock crosses the demons face as searing pain arcs through his shoulder. Looking down it is clear the see the point of an arrow just tearing out of his leather armor. "To arms there are enemy among us." Aku shouts hoping his allies would answer his call. "yea yea I know I always told you to be on the look out." Aku mutters quietly to his sword. With a guttural battle cry Aku charges into the woods.
Just as the archer comes into view he looses another arrow that goes threw the demons wing. With another scream of pain Aku's sword slams into the orc’s shoulder with such force that it severs the beasts left arm. Only taking seconds to enjoy the kill the demon quickly relieves the orc of his head.
Aku expected the sound of the head hitting the ground however he did not expect the sound of so many swords leaving there sheaths. “Blast it I was led into an ambush. I am sorry our plans failed, and you are stuck in that sword with our kids. With my wounded wing I can not fly, nor can I wield both you, and my brother’s blade.” Aku muttered raising the sword up to look into the pommel. With a swift kiss to the sword the demon readied himself for what seemed like the end. “I hope my friends have not left me.” The wounded demon stated to himself drawing the last of his strength for the coming battle.

| Since almost no one involved in this "Adventure" is not around much/doesn't respond/or has been banned from the site, I hereby shut down DDI II.
Perhaps, if there is interest in a new story, we can start another one. Anyone interested, don't hesitate to email me. I'll start a new "recruitment" thread if there's enough future interest.

| I was actually thinking of taking him as a 15-16th level character, and remodifying him to be a bit more streamlined for this kind of "game." I'll probably completely retool the character with the full funds of a character of that level.
Reusing the Quartzmoke of Lit's game, but "planned for the future" would feel rather weird. | |
