Show tunes....[:o] If either one of my groups started breaking out with tunes from Cats or Rent. It would scare me...

| | My group will make absolutely any reference they can. Music and Simpsons come up the most, the Simpsons moreso. Sometimes they give Simpsons character names to NPC's. Although not a Simpsons reference the NPC cleric in the group is refered to as 'Red Shirt'. | | You know, I keep thinking that after the new design team gets done with D&D 4e, D&D won't stand for Dungeons and Dragons anymore, because well, that's just not fun. It's old and stuffy. - Originally Posted by BabWryter on Kenzerco.com | |

| Actually, Star Wars tend to come up more with games I'm in. Okay, so I tend to paraphrase Star Wars quotes quite a bit! (Ever read my favorite quote in my profile? [)]) Lord of the Rings is also on the rise. Music always comes up, somehow.
Oh, Jai. The caveman playing the piano says nothing and only waves his hand. It's the other caveman on the other couch with the laptop that sat says the condescending line. [:D] | | Trade & talk in real time on IRC! SERVER: irc.psionics.net CHANNEL: #maxminis SOFTWARE: PC | PC (free) | MAC

| We once had a big time fire sorceror type in our group, the words "the roof, the roof, tthe roof is on fire" came up both musically and documentarily, quite often.
Is documentarily even a word?
no, probably not

Well, I did, but then for Legacy of Empires, I referenced the "Mikado" in describing my character. ;)

| One time the PCs made a pit-stop at a kindly old woman's cottage. Little did they know that this kindly old woman was infact a wizard of no small power, and an absolute nutcase to boot! At any rate, one of the PCs lays down on her bed and begins to sleep. The other PCs begin planing out next days dungeon delve, that is until the Gnome bard notices the bed, which was in fact a mimic, growing teeth; he then screams out-

The way we use red shirt refers to the original Star Trek. It seemed that any away team that had a crew member that hadn't been seen before invariably had a red shirt on, they never seemed to make it back to the ship. | | You know, I keep thinking that after the new design team gets done with D&D 4e, D&D won't stand for Dungeons and Dragons anymore, because well, that's just not fun. There was that episode where they beam down to a planet and the rocks explode when they stepped on them and the plants shot poisonous spines. They transported down with four red shirts and YOU KNEW they were all dead men walking. [:D] | | On vacation 6/29 - 7/5

| I have a player in my group that constantly makes "Dirty Harry" references. Crap like, "go ahead orc, make my day." Sometimes I just want to b***h-slap him!
On the red-shirt issue, I had a gaming buddy in the military paint several man-at-arms figures to serve as henchmen. Red chain mail, gold helmets, and black pants; perfect look for hirelings. And like Ghendar says, they generally were "Dead Men Walking!" | | Email Offers | Trade History Champion of the Frost Giant Jarl "Pray that you meet death standing on your feet, rather than on your knees." | |

If you ever watch Futurama, they have the most awesome spoof of this where a red suit is not only killed by an evil alien, but every time it gets angry it continues to zap the poor dead body of the red suit ;0

| | We have a lot Master of Disguise humor at our gaming table. When the players won't quiet down I pull the "This is what you're doing, THIS is what I want you to do." on 'em. One of the players is quite fond of "WHO'S YOUR DADDY!?". | | Drumsticks can also be chicken. -Tardy Turtle | |

Actually, thinking about it, I would not use HMS Pinafore for D&D....it is much more appropriate for 7th Sea | | Dan Cooper

| | The Simpsons and Family Guy come up a lot in my D&D playing. Music sometimes works its way in there, too. Especially my City of the Spider Queen character, a Lasher (3.0 Sword and Fist), with his uber magic whip. Same here with the Devo music last night. The party met up with one of those Uber illithiads that has the long two tentacles....
