Wow, that is a nice find.

The one advantage that 1e inarguably has that 3e doesn't, is affordability.

Merric,

Congratulations, that is quite the haul.

Enjoy it before the acid in the paper eats everything away. Although it may be more expensive now to buy 3E products, I do appreciate that many (if not most) are on acid free paper so that they last longer. The few pieces of material I have left from the Basic/1E days are showing their age with rusting staples, etc.

If you have a really good quality haul, double congrats to you.

Cheers [:)]

I've got a few 1e modules, they are showing their age poorly I'm araid. Congraulations on the haul Merric.

Proper storage is the key. Store them in a cool, dry, and dark location and they will keep for a long, long time.

A comic book collection was found back in the '70s in Colorado. These books were about 30-40 years old at the time and had been stored in a cool, dry climate and were pristine. Most looked as if they were brand new.

That IS a nice haul, Merric. N1 is a very underrated module that converts nicely to 3.5, and I still think that Baltron's Beacon is one of the more challenging and interesting modules TSR ever put out. Very nice. Enjoy.

Seeing this has actually inspired me to look into bagging my old modules...

I agree. It's also kind of hard to find.

Enjoy U1, it's a great adventure, as it U2. Man, you picked up GDQ and all those for that price?

I ran U1, U2 and U3 to start off the current iteration of my Greyhawk campaign (using borrowed copies). I really like U1, but U3 has issues - mainly due to not enough XP in U1 and U2; U3 is too hard for a set of introductory modules, and the strict timeline of events really hurts it.

In any case, all PCs that participated in the series died shortly thereafter... though there has been some continuity. The current PCs are 12th level or so, and have just arrived in Greyhawk (as detailed here) A mention of what actually happened to the PCs in Saltmarsh can be found here.

Cheers!

Er? What?! YOu mean original list price? Things aren't actually much different if you compare original prices, adjusted for inflation.

If you mean that you can routinely find stuff like what Merric got for basement price, BUY NOW, and invest in your future.

Most people I know would consider $26.00 for JUST H2, or JUST GDQ1-7 to be an absolute steal.

Congrat Merric, and as you always say: "Enjoy"!

Without a doubt. I was lucky enough to get a near mint copy of H2 for $5. Still don't have GDQ1-7 though. [:(]

My best find to date was a mint copy of L3 for just $4.00 (and no tax even!)

I sold my copy of H2 (I got rid of all my Forgotten Realms stuff, 1st edition or no...) for $64.00!

Yep, which sold for $60.00 retail. Someone opened it up, and ended up hawking the pieces to a local game store. They threw them in the used bin with $4.00 price tags... so I picked up what was left, the reprint of B2 and L3!

WOOP!

Hmmm,
This has peaked my interest. A friend of mine got married recently for the third time. No he didn't keep the other two. He gave me a few boxes of his D&D stuff, that I have hardly looked at. He said it cost him two marriages, didn't want strike 3! Going to check dates.
One box of forgotten realms stuff, dating from 1993 - nothing special I guess. The other is Dragonlance dating from 1989.
Oh well, no artefacts for me.
Way to go Merric.

I have always been here.
