| | Don't know if this counts. Our party was fighting on top of supply ships killing orcs so we can return the ships to port. Upon ridding one ship, My Warforged Barbarian, the Human fighter and the Shifter Rogue takes one of the life boats to the other ship to clear off the other orcs. Meanwhile the Human Sorcerer and Cleric decided to stay on the other boat and pretend to be pirates (they were roleplaying as a couple 15 year old kids so its kinda understandable) They decide, "hey lets lite a signal fire on this ship so then the orcs see us and the other three can sneak on board." Upon lighting the fire they realize that they are on a wooden ship and the whole thing catches on fire. In there scrambling one says "lets get a rope and swing accross. (DM allows it knowing that the distance between the two ships is greater than the height of the ships) and when they try to swing accross from on deck they swing right into the water. | | Champion of the Alhoon and my called shot for Unhallowed Blood War Called Shot: Phoenix Trade withe me! | |

Or....
I have a bad feeling about this.

| Acererrak? Yeah, we'll kill him.
Hey look, Elminster's front door is open. Let's go in.
Our latest reports confirm that the orc concentration in the hills is minimal.
I charge the Century Worm!!! (Yes, a player actually did this.)
Hey, what's that black shadow over your shoulder?
Let's go in. That green stuff on the walls and ceiling is only harmless moss.

| 2nd Ed D&D:
Large fight including lots of Elder Dragons. Barbarian (Intelligence 3). Party wins battle, barely. Many wounded, some dead. Barbarian "I wish we could do that again." Dead party, and one extremely annoyed player.
Barbarian was wearing a ring of 3 wishes that she found earlier but didn't realise what it was.
3.5 Ed D&D:
Traversing a mountainside track right near cliff edge. Landside, all characters make the needed rolls, except one, Druid. Druid then fails to grab anything at cliff edge. Last chance, roll reflex to grab (suddenly appearing) small tree growing from side of cliff (I felt sorry for him as it was right at the start of the adventure). Failed roll. Make new character dude

| Characters with any stat of 3 really are unplayable. A 3 Int is the same as that of a dog or cat. The barbarian in your story was severly retarded and really shouldn't have been able to speak. Even with a starting 18 str, 18 con, and 18 dex... I would not be able to play a character with a 3 int.

They were the stats the character rolled, and the player wanted to to play it. It actually made for some memorable sessions. Not every character has to be some uber hero. One of the things I liked about 2nd Ed was how outlandish things could be. Ah well, to each his own. We had fun, and that's all that counts.

| We had somone play a character like that back in second ed. The DM would generaly give them a limited number of words they could say. One of the more entertaining fellows was a Fighter called Axe-Axe, he had the most extraordinary npc interactions.
Inkeeper: You'd like a room? Axe-Axe: Axe-Axe! Inkeeper: Do you have a reservation with us? Axe-Axe: AXE-AXE!! Inkeeper: Okay.... that will be five gold. Axe-Axe:AXE-AXE!! Inkeeper: ...... um....second door to your left.... Axe-Axe: Axe-Axe!

| I think that trap has been disar---- Oops, at least I made my save. Guys? *looks around and sees his party is dead* Ah well, time to loot some bodies.
Or when a Kender says "Oops."
Fireball! The wizard casts a fireball into a room that doesn't really exist because it's an illusion of a room full of ogres. Of course the blast goes off 2 feet from the wizard's face and he's turned to ash. :) | | Just a simple traveler from the swamps of Dagobah otherwise known as Florida. Also known as Hurricane Alley! So do I...its fun.
Unless of course the people you are playing with REALLY ARE stupid. Thats frustrating because they cannot sove a puzze or their plan of attack will get you all killed...because you need to stay in character and you cant be comming up with these better ideas if you INT is 5 or 6. | | Champion of the Skulk Vindicated Champion of the Twig Blight

Playing low charisma can be fun as well, simple comments that "unintentionally" piss-off the NPCs and completely ruin Diplomacy attempts. Good roleplaying, but you'd better be able to outrun your gaming friends.

| Our GM tried a free form system that allowed you to put the stat points wherever you wanted... one guy took a bunch of 18's and 16's and traded it off with a 3 chr. He got stoned and chased out of some cities and villages as a frickin elephant man. He made up a new character. It is kinda fun to play a stupid character some times... but the role playing is kind of out the window if you have a 3 int. Per the general frame of every point of int is about 10 IQ points and a 65IQ is considered mentally retarded in today's society, you can't even test someone with a 30 IQ. It doesn't even go that low. A sea cucumber has a 30 IQ. I just can't see playing a character that can not talk in complete sentences.

Hmm, not up to the challange eh? Not only have I seen and done that, I have seen people role-play characters who can not speak, period.

| Not exactly last words but here goes:
My half-orge fighter was pretty beat up and was going to stay behind at the mine enterance.
I say to the party "you guy go ahead and check that last room I will wait here where it is safe."
They want to know if i wanted any of the treasure in the room. I said "Staying alive is more important to me right now"
They go in disturb a Death knight, and who is the only one to die. Me a hundred feet away sitting with my back agaist the wall minding my own business.
