| My +7 spoon of bard slaying.
It was from a very silly game I played about 8 years ago.
For some reason in this game bards had a great weakness against spoon attacks. The down side is that you don't often have to kill bards. Never the less, I took that weapon and wielded it proudly for a several sessions.
Good times.

It was the shocking rapier +1 of my 12th level Swashbuckler. It was actually his first real magic weapon, which he gave away to his arch-rival, as a peace offering so that he could marry the rival's sister. | | "We can't stop here...This Is Bat country!"

| I haven't played enough to be able to have a character who has gone through enough sessions in order to have established a favourite weapon of any of them.
Sigh.
I have, however, DM'd a helluva lot, and therefore, created MANY cool weapons.
Can't remember most of them, though. Only one I can recall right this second is one that I created for the last session I ran, about six months ago. It was an elven weapon I dubbed the 'Whipstaff'. It wasn't a special magical weapon or anything, but rather a new type of weapon. It was made of a special wood, unique to the world, that was naturally flexible. Elven craftsmanship made it even more-so, using special oils and whatnot.
If you've ever seen a Hong Kong Cinema movie, especially the early Jackie Chan ones, where they use these really long, very flexible spears, then you get an idea of what the whipstaff is like. Essentially, you flex it back, and let go of one end so that it whips around and smacks someone.
It had 1d6 damage, 20/x2 threat/crit, but had a natural +1 to hit due to the ability to aim it precisely and the speed of the weapon. Was exotic for all but elves. | | Bite me.

| My +1 Sword of Dragonslaying. Found it in the D&D Module Horror on the Hill. It was the only magical sword my Ranger ever had. I played for 8 years and attained 8th level with this guy before switching to play a MERP Campaign.

Ben.
Very convenient that a module that has a dragon at the end also has a dragon slaying sword in it. Funny how that works out.

| I really enjoyed Horror on the Hill. Must have played it 22 years ago. I still remember DerriWinky the Third, even the guy who wrote it, a Mr Douglas Niles (we all blamed him when we got lost in the dungeon below the Hobgoblin King).
And yes very lucky finding that sword [:)]

| | Not my weapon, but one that had great effect in a campaign I've heard lots of war stories from: the magical sword "Boatslayer" (long sword +2, +4 vs watercraft). I've heard that on multiple occasions, its wielder had cause to jump into a river and start hacking at a barge. [:P] | | "Why am I all sticky and naked? | hmm.. in this case I have a hard choice between 2 weapons
"Sunblight", my LG 1/2orc's relic of Gruumsh +3 Cold Iron Longspear, radiates darkness and non-orc takes 1 neg lvl
"Spectral Slash", scarily enough, same character +1 Ghost Touch Bane:Undead Guisarme... you have no idea how many times this weapon has saved my hide. | | Einstein would turn in his grave; God does play dice, and the dice are loaded!

That was one of the highlights of the Chaya campaign for me. This much milage from a +1 shocking rapier shows that I kept item powers low to highlight the character not the magic item. A +5 or higher blasting slashing booming crushing item basically defeats your enemies for you and adds nothing to the character IMO. | | I am a leaf on the wind...Urrk!!--Wash, "Serenity"

| Woundweaver, the +2 Sabre of Wounding my swashbuckler Ruprecht once had. He would go from opponent to opponent, making sure to hit every one once. Between the Earring of Regeneration (can take almost any damage because "I'll get better!") and Woundweaver ("Bleed, varlet! Moo hahaaaa!") he was turning into one seriously messed-up individual. Oddly enough I've thought back to most of my characters and realized I've never quatified them based on their toys per say. Either my DM's have been a little stingy, or that was simply an faucet of the game that I did not focus on. I think what I remember most and best were the triumphs and the mishaps, how a collection of numbers and statistcs became something I was connected to. | | Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul, ash nazg thrakatulûk, agh burzum-ishi krimpatul | |

| | My favorite weapon is the one my dwarven fighter is using now. He has wpn focus/specialization Bast Sword. He was able to pay a blacksmith enough for a +3 weapon. He asked for a +1 Bast Sword that was Holy. The DM approved it. He obtained a +1 Holy Bast Sword. He didn't forsee the irony in the name. He does 1d10+7 + 2d6 Holy damage on a hit. | | "Look to God and live." Well, that is essentially the same thing in LG, on that note, i just had a new record for damage that was made with that weapon. 361 damage Criting on a Momentum swing leap attack with full power attack and an enlarge person buff up behind it and on the final villain too...
