One thing that I think of when considering setting up multiple traps in an area is that generally, the dragon needs to navigate the area safely pending that the dragon (of course) knows where the traps are. There will need to be some relative safe zones for the dragon to relax in without bumping traps himself, otherwise he wouldn't be able to sleep in peace.

That being said, one idea that I came up with was having something that appeared to be treasure that really wasn't. I guess that barring magic (illusion), creativity would be needed in how this is done. However, overanxious (over curious) adventurers that approach to obtain the false treasure would find an easy one way in, but difficulty leaving. Maybe the walls are very slippery and there is a cylindrical pit with emerald smooth walls. Because it is circular, it is very difficult for adventurers to climb out. I don't know if this cylindrical pit idea works well with the false treasure directly, so maybe they would be split up into two different traps with more development needed for each one. I am getting really tired right now, so I am having difficulty developing either idea further. Maybe someone else can use what I have said and develop it more.

One ive used that I think could work well in a situation like this is a false treasure room. The way I used it is there is a smattering of real treasure and illusion and in the middle a podium with something nice on it. Now of course they will search the podium for traps as they should, the podium had two traps (in mine) one when you touched the item (it was a gem in mine) it teleported the toucher inside trapping him (gem breaks they can get out)
Two, the whole area around the gem is weight sensitive when enough weight gets on it (you decide) the area begins flooding (mine was water since its a volcano you can use lava)

The gem that traps also has a nice thing in that it could have others trapped or creatures as well, and when broken they might have to fight or deal with those. (course you got to leave enough clues to figure out that they can break the gem)

Im out- find me on Hordelings if you want to chat.

True.
I like the idea of a pit with smooth emerald walls! Especially since the walls can make the PC's believe the room is important to the dragon, and make them oversee the trap-aspect.

The false treasure room is of course a classic, although hard to pull of without illusion spells. Aesoph, I like the idea of a treasure that traps you inside. The 'trigger teleport' power is too much for the dragon's psion level, but maybe I can work around that. Maybe I could use something like a mirror of life trapping.

Thanks guys!
Anyone other ideas/anyone else?

The word you're looking for is "volcano".

If it's friendly (as far as dragons go) maybe it has some nonlethal traps enroute to its lair? Like windy passages/revolving rooms/etc that redirect clueless adventurers back the way they came, or teleports to outside, or some sort of sleep/hold person effect combined with manually moving the characters outside.
