| | I'm not familiar with all of the official D&D literature, but the Star Wars RPG also produced by Wizards has rules for ship-to-ship combat (both small and large), that you might be able to incorporate into your game. | | Over 270 successful online DDM trades. | |

| | The arms and equipment guide has rules dealing with vehicles and vehicle combat, whether they are v3.5 dodges my memory right now. Mongoose's v3 Seas of Blood and v3.5 The Sea are not horrible. Green Ronin did Skull and Bones I have not had time to evaluate those rules fully. Goodman Did a pretty nice series on the Aerial campaign, now under one cover and v3.5 compliant. AEG did Ships and Sea Battles. WoTC has Maelstrom coming soon, which should cover the question of ships. Bastion has covered airships in a book of that title, thier Into the Blue focuses on ocean life below the waves. FFG has done Seafarer's handbook, but I can't recommend it. LI did Broadsides, not bad, but not v3.5 compliant, so some tweaking might be required. So ideas are out there, the question is whether you'll use a published concept from the whole cloth or pick and choose what elements appeal to you. Oh, the various Steampunk campaigns usually at least touch on nautical and aerial elements of thier campiagn. | | CHAMPION OF SUCCUBI | |

| Salt and Seadogs by Kenzerco covers this stuff too. It's one of the better D&D products I've ever purchased. I especially like their idea of ship templates.
Edit: Salt and Seadogs doesn't have air ship information as far as I can recall. | | You know, I keep thinking that after the new design team gets done with D&D 4e, D&D won't stand for Dungeons and Dragons anymore, because well, that's just not fun. It's old and stuffy. - Originally Posted by BabWryter on Kenzerco.com | |

| Fantasy Flight Games released the Seafarer's Handbook under their Legends and Lairs line. I own the book because I have a campaign currently centered around an ocean voyage. The rules were written in 3.0 edition, and WotC has updated their seige engine rules since the book was released. There are gaps in the rules periodically with this book, but if you can pick it up cheap enough it can help. I used a ship layout in the book to build a ship out of foamboard and finishing nails for the party to use, considering I knew I'd be using the layout quite a bit I figured it was easier than drawing the same thing repeatedly.

Are there any good books with rules on running air ships and boat on water for combat, movement, ship stats and etc?
Got some stuff on water navigation and combat.
There is a D20 supplement called Twin Crowns, Age of Exploration Fantasy. It has about 20 pages on these subjects. It gives details on naval piloting, piloting terrain modifiers, nautical instruments, random weather tables, ship types, maneuverability classes for ships, and of course about 8-9 pages on naval combat. Everything from ship initiative, to various combat actions and how long they take in rounds, armaments (catapults, ballista, cannon), ships equipped with rams, ships that shoot fire, how magic figures into ship damage, and lastly, how to repair your ship after the battle, assuming she's still afloat. [:D] Looks like some interesting stuff. I don't have any interest in this sort of thing, so i haven't actually read it. I can't speak for any game balance issues but it looks very interesting.
This book can be found cheap on ebay. Got my copy for around $5, IIRC. If interested, look at these links.

| | I like the mongoose publishing's seas of blood, and the supplements for it. They have gridded maps of different vessels that you could easily scale up for use. I believe Dragon or Dungeon had a few issues with maps of Githyanki ships that could be used as well. | | | |

I'll try to post some pics of it here soon, simply because I was surprised at how sturdy it was and how easy it was to build. I'll post on this thread, and maybe start a new one to attract attention. | If you want small scale ships that you can not put miniatures on but can use to represent ships, you might try the Pirates set of collectable figures games by WizKids. That is if you do not mind 17th and 18th century ships in your games.

Thanks for the mention! I think Dead Man's Chest has the best rules on ship's sailing speed; I wrote the book with a copy of three other D20 ship books in hand, so I made sure I didn't reinvent the wheel, while at the same time filling in gaps that other tomes had left untended.
Enjoy!
