| If you went with the wererat angle, you could build this thing up harcore.
Imagine if, a few levels down the track, the rat swarm returns, assumes hybrid shape and exacts revenge for the Pcs "killing" them earlier.

| Here are some minis that would look 'cool' for the part-
-Deathlock (has the whole undead 'I love rats' thing goin')
-Crow Shaman (druid-like and covered in a dead bird)
-Mongrelfolk (really ugly and beasty lookin')
-Blue (looks like he could control rats)
-Mialee (looks like a rat and druid like)
-Cultist of the Dragon (dark wizard look)
-Baaz Draconic (Evil rat looking again)
-Snig the Axe (nasty lil' booger)
And it's pet/side-kick should be a fiendish dire weasel.

| Wererat, I like this idea, plus he'll be able to pound the snot out of my PCs, or what's left of them after the swarm, hehehe.
For race I'm leaning toward humano or goblin, yeah goblin wererat druid.
Maybe something like:
Snirk, NE goblin wererat rog1/ftr1/drd1.
Neccesary tragic backstory:
Snirk was a highranking warrrior in his tribe (LE rog1/ftr1), when he lead a warparty to kill off a tribe of wererats that were threatening tribal lands. Although the mission was successful, Snirk got bitten, failed his fort save, and became a wererat. At the next full moon, he transformed and killed several members of the tribe. The tribe's leader, a powerfull fourth level goblin cleric, promptly saw him as a threat due to his newfound lycinthropic power. Snirk was kicked out of the clan and left to try and survive on his own. This was when he became totally vindictive, and lost any traces of a morale code. While in the wild, he began to see the power of nature as like himself, uncontrolled, wild, and caring about nothing. He began to worship the forest as a god, albeit, not a very nice god, and picked up that level of druid. He also discovered a strange kinship with rats, and started to form packs of them to do his will At this point, he was found, wandering wild like a feral dog by a member of Death's Faithful, my obligatory Nerull worshipping cult bent on world domination, and was recruited to join them. | |
