We can post guesses and possibly rate the difficulty of the riddles here. I'd like to see just original stuff, just to avoid copywright infringement. Here's my best one....

As you enter this room, the door behind you locks in place. In front of you is a barred metal door. The bolts bracing the door shut are built into the surrounding wall. Beside the door is a small piano fastened to the wall. A plaque above it reads:
If you wish to travel through,
A musical passage is what to do.
See my words and know you may
Be on key to pass this way.

How do you get the door to open?

I don't know, but as a guess I would try playing FAEACAAAEADEEDADABEEAA. Failing that, FACB.

I always like for trap rooms to make sense...this one doesn't, to me, out of context anyway. Why would someone have a room with locked doors and a piano? Seems like there would be better ways to go about it.

You may want to figure out HP and hardness for the doors, because I imagine after the first few aborted attempts at the piano, things will start getting smashed.

My question on heavy trap rooms is always the same. How does the owner get through? Does he jump pits of lava and walk across high wires to get to his office?

Im out- find me on Hordelings if you want to chat.

This was just a rough idea of the set-up. When I actually played this one out for the PCs, there was a bit more involved based on the campaign. The stats for doors are easily found in the DMG for those without the musical talent to figure out "F A C B". But I like your other solution too.

This riddle goes well in a bard's home or some other music themed dungeon, but if the players know little or nothing about music, you may have to allow them a Perform check or Intelligence check to figure out the notes go from A to G.

Hells yeah. When I'm independently wealthy, and own my own island, you better believe there are going to be pits of lava and wires.

You know, that's one thing that struck me about the Hellboy movie. I mean, I can see why the Russian Empire fell: they spent so dang much money on Rasputin's tomb!

Whenever I design traps, I always ask myself, "How did they PAY for this?" 'cuz I know my players will!

Once I labeled a truly deadly trap "Angels tread not here."
Just as the rogue was going to mess with it, one of the party members suddenly realized that it was from "Fools rush in where angels fear to tread" and yelled, "WAIT!!!"

dangit.
