| Mark of Heroes can get pretty brutal, since the cost of one-use items is jacked up significantly. Playing your changeling as a bard seems like a good fit for the type of character that you suggested, and provides a good support character for the rest of the party, which is incredibly handy in MOH games. I've found that the bard tends to work better for conman types than the rogue, since they have magic that can help them influence others and you can put more skill points into charisma based skills without sacrificing your lock-picking and trapfinding. Inspire courage is also pretty valuable, since it raises attack bonuses and damage rolls for all party members.
Levelling up in MOH is also tougher (since the modules are harder and characters tend not to live through them), but definitely go with the Trickery domain if you can when you take a cleric level. It just suits conman types so well.

Also Bard works well into cleric as turn and some other cleric abilities work off of charisma | | Im out- find me on Hordelings if you want to chat.

| Cool concept, kind of a transcendentalist spiritualism. Important note to make is that September is after the first level kick, so you should be starting at level 3.
MoH modules can be very tough, so optimisation is going to be necessary. If you intend to be a self-buffing fighter type Cleric, then I advise starting out as a rogue. If you plan to be more social and spell-chucking, then I would go with Bard. And if you really want to powergame it, then grab a big Cha for more turning goodness, and go for Divine Metamagic. | | Support awesome games: Play Hecatomb!

| Thanks for all the advice. From reading this advice, I definitely will go with Bard. Now to kick him up to 3rd level. He should be a fun character, if I can pull off his Professor Harold Hill slickness.
Sounds like I should take the Negotiator feat for his 3rd level feat, or should it be a divine metamagic feat? (For 1st level I took education.)

| Actually, thanks to the miracle of Ebay, I now have a couple more options open to me.
I got the campaign cards that allows me to have a psionic Kalanthar and I got one that will allow me to have a sentient scout, which is a small sized Warforged. Ahhh, options, options, options....

| | I would go with rogue unless you're planning to keep your bard and cleric levels equal, otherwise you'll eventually end up with a multiclassing XP penalty (changeling favored class is rogue.) | | Anson on WotC boards | |

| The details on the Level Kick for GenCon are up:
The level kick at Gen Con Indy, August 2005, sets the campaign at 4th level with a starting equip value of 5,000 gp
That means your character for September should use those values.
AFAIK, there's no XP penalty to worry about for multiclassing in MoH(there are other restrictions on multiclassing, but that won't affect you).
* Changeling Bard 1/Cleric 3
* Changeling Rogue 1/Cleric 3
Cheers!
