| | While he is clearly insane, he does have a point. In my game the lowly Wrackspawn have served as a proxy for all manner of nameless mooks who show up only to be swiftly defeated by the juggernaut that is my gaming group. I don't let the fact that they are hideous and don't really "look" like what i'm trying to emulate (other than some form of undead creature perhaps) slow me down. DnD is a game of imagination after all. There are lots of iconic beasties that lack minis. | I have a great use for them... put four or five of them together and they make a descent paper weight.
They make for a fair golf tee.
My cats love it when I dangle them on a string.
I am saving a bunch of them up to give away at Halloween this year, (but I am going to stay up really late to defend my house against the inevitable eggs.)
My 3 year old son likes to run over them with his toy monster trucks.
I am still looking for a use for them in RPG.

Indeed it has. I sure hope that is a clear message to the design team on how incredibly ridiculous we find it. I still hate that stupid little dwarf boot, that's by far what makes it most stupid-looking for me.
I am going to use the wrackspawn as decor in a crazy mage's lab...fail experiment, etc. or simply as a way to kill a pc dwarf, and mage in a failed teleportation spell. | | Trades >> Completed: 49 | Bad: Ø | Pending: 0 | Trade & talk Live on IRC! SERVER: irc.psionics.net CHANNEL: #maxminis | |

| The Wrackspawn is an excellent piece, especially in its role as a WFT. Playing mind ganes with adventuring PCs who think they have seen it all is loads of fun. Put a Wrackspawn on the battlemat and they don't have a clue how to combat the little beggars. They can be anything you want them to be because the PCs haven't got a stereotype of what they actually are. They evin look evil, mean and scary. | | I have always been here. | |

| I also have a use for them. In an upcoming game there is going to be a commander whose position was overran and he along with many of his most beloved troopers were captured. The party has been dispatched to find and capture a field grade officer (or higher) from the invading forces. At the camp where said officer is the insidious rite is on going infront of the commander as his troopers are being tortured and turned into WTFs before his eyes in an attempt to make the commander divulge secrets of the defenses.
At least the things will get used....

That is arguably the best idea I've heard yet. It's almost as funny as Teddy Wrackspawn. | | You know, I keep thinking that after the new design team gets done with D&D 4e, D&D won't stand for Dungeons and Dragons anymore, because well, that's just not fun. I've got 16 of the buggers, I would actually do this. The problem is only 2 people doing it wouldn't create much of an impression. I was going to list in my most recent trade thread that I'd send a free Yackspawn with every trade agreement, but I was afraid I that it might actually push some people away from trades. | | You know, I keep thinking that after the new design team gets done with D&D 4e, D&D won't stand for Dungeons and Dragons anymore, because well, that's just not fun. | | I just tried to buy a dozen of them @ $5.00 each, but nobody would sell to me because they said they had "better offers" from some unknown source. Rumor has it that Ahnold Schwarzenegger has a wrackspawn fetish (probably because of all the rippling muscles), and he has been inflating the market price singlehandedly by buying up all that he can at inflated prices. The first time a list comes out for a given set, the commons haven't really had enough time to drop to a reasonable price for what people are actually going to pay. Watch the next list--the wrackspawn will go down. Those other miniatures (with the exception of the other four Angelfire ones at the bottom) have had some chance to languish around in their respective stores.
I am surprised the direguard goes for so little though. I think it makes a nice stand in for various skeletons/wraiths, etc. | | "Look to God and live."
