| I'd go with the Shifter. But, then again, I have a bit of a werewolf fixation, and you haven't chosen an actual lycanthrope (because of the LA), so that might be coloring my opinion.
A close second would be the Kobold Paladin. You could use the Kobold Champion as a mini! That should be reason enough to make the character. | | Champion of the Werewolf Lord, Knight of Anything Duergar, and Squire of Things Gnollish List reset with the start of previews for each new set...got Chainmail®?

KOBOLDS FOREVER!!!!!!
I think you can guess what my pick from that list is. If you don't go with the mighty Kobold, then go with the Shifter. Like CotCB, I have a Werewolf fixation, and Shifters get close enough for my vote.

Thanks. I don't have that book, but a buddy of mine does. BTW, I have nothing against kobolds, just kobold paladins. [)] | | Ghendar - Now snark free!

Hey now! Nothing...and I mean NOTHING is as stupid as a redeemed succubus paladin with her vrock mount! (Except the D&D movie) My idea was to eventually go into Cavalier or Outland Rider from dragon magazine...then top it off with some rogue on top.

I actually like the idea of a Kobold. Maybe not a Paladin, but something psionic or even a sorcerer. A rogue / sorcerer who is mad with power. (OK you would start as a level one rogue, but sorcerer would be a good thing to add.)

I've got it then, play Bill the fighter, level one fighter with a greatsword, working towards Bill the fighter with a masterwork greatsword...for a miniature I'd recomend using the wrackspawn[:p] | | Call me: W.N. I was thinking the same thing...so after 3rd level I'll have a speed of 60ft whilst shifting... if I were to take a level of barbarian too, would their fast movement stack with the scout's? | | Vindicated Night Below Champion of the Digestor!!! | What ever happened to the traditional characters?
I'd recommend a half-orc barbarian with the following stats: Str 20, Dex 14, Con 16, Int 6, Wis 8, Cha 6.
Call it 'Urgh', and have him only ever communicate by saying, "Urgh," in a variety of ways.
Give him a scythe, and improved critical when you get around to it [:D] | | Bite me.

Yeah... but instead cast it on yourself and let them try and see you when you are hidden in a shadow and casting all manner of spells from there.

| Goblin Wizard -2 str is not an issue +2 dex never hurts -2 cha doesn't matter if your a wizard
you'll be able to hide very well and have a good AC for a wizard, since int and con are not penalized you should be fine. Plus you can do the double agent roll and infiltrate goblin camps... | | Call me: W.N. Gobo! originally posted by grim: While he is clearly insane, he does have a point.

| Thank you all for your imput...I've decided on the Shifter Scout...though I think I'll stick to the full scout instead of dread commando...time will tell.
So, next question...what should be my first feat? I was thinking Dodge.... | | Vindicated Night Below Champion of the Digestor!!! Dex is my highest stat right now...it's sitting at 20...then with Longstrider it's a 22 while shifting. Scouts only have simple weapons, shortbow, handaxe I think...I was thinking of using a shortbow as the primary... | | Vindicated Night Below Champion of the Digestor!!! | | Dodge is excellent, since mobility is an excellent choice as well. One of my friends was a scout and he was never in the same space on two consecutive rounds. Plus, spring attack is an uber feat choice for the scout class. | | Champion of the Minotaur Knight Herald of the Epic Snig

| | I played in a game where my character was a human cleric of pelor. Everybody looked at me sorta weird. What, don't I want racial modifiers? What, don't I want to work up to some prestige class that will be so powerful in this campaign setting, etc? Nope just want to be a vanilla character. Well that was one for the books, something not often encountered in today's D&D games. | | I have always been here. | |

That's funny, getting weird looks for playing a cleric of the most popular religion of human in the core rules. I've wanted to play a cleric of Fhlarnaghan (sp?) for some time....moving from town to town, righting wrongs....
