The only one there I've played is D20 modern and it is a pretty good game. The only thing I don't like about it is the equipment purchasing rules. I don't like then whole purchase DC system. Give me money with which to buy stuff.

Though I have had no experience with d20 Star Wars, I did play d6 Star Wars. If I weren't playing D&D, I would first take a look at the d20 Star Wars. But that's just my opinion. I am not knowledgeable enough to give a very useful opinion on anything outside D&D, though.

Call of Cthulu is great although it is more common to lose a character to insanity than it is to death.

Im a big fan of Gamma World. It can be tough to make up an interesting story for it though. Its easy to "wing" it though while playing. Theres something cool about 1 player having a barely functioning death ray, and the other one using a baseball bat spiked with nails. Also mutations are a lot of fun (but not as cool as 1st edition of it)

Looking for someone to cosponser a midwest DDM event. let me know if your interested!

Actually in alot of Call of Cthulhu games I played in, physical death very quickly followed insanity as the shoggoth rolled over you.

Big fan of Call of Cthulhu and one of my friend swears by star wars.

I've played quite a few adventures of Star Wars (including the Living Force) and a big pile of d20 Modern adventures. I highly recommend both.

It can be hard for D&D players to adapt. Star Wars, after all, is often filled with computer use this and computer use that, and there are lots of intricate missions. It's a lot more fun when it's not all combat.

In both SW and d20 Mod, cover is a player's best friend. If you're GMing, don't give away this secret--let the players find out the hard way that the hit point system is vastly different than in D&D and it's FAR harder to recover from serious wounds.

That said, I like playing in d20 Modern more than in SW, probably because I'm a bigger fan of fantasy than of quasi-sci-fi stuff.

I've played and GMed d20 modern, it can be a lot of fun and you have a lot of options including using other games. We've done horror, x files like government consipiracy, and we started an alien encounter type adventure when the group broke apart(people moved no reflection on the game).

If you like gamma world try Paranoia, its gamma world with a sense of humor. I've only played to old version, not d20, but I think the new version is d20.

I've said it before and I will say it again. Warhammer Fantasy Role Play is an excellent game. It is a much darker and more leathal game when compared to D&D. There is no raise dead. Magic is a rarity and your party is more concerned with having a medic and some rest to having a priest. It is also so much simplier than any of the d20 systems, but it works well.
