| Lucas Castleford.
He was an aristocrat who came from a very wealthy family. Lucas' great grandfather's wife and kids were killed by a vampire so he became a hunter. He trained his son who trained his. My line was the black sheeps of the family.
To make a long story short Lucas got the short end of the stick when his father died and no will was found and everything went to his older brother. He hated the vampire hunting nonsence and the shame it brought his family so he gave Lucas nothing and booted him out of the estate.
Lucas was a rogue...He used his sneaky rogue abilities to sneak into tombs and castles and slay the undead. His religion was to a homebrew goddess of life. It was against his religion to take a sentient life unless in self defence...but once undead were on the scene he would open the can off whoopass.
He was still raised amond the nobility so I had him speak in an accent like C-3PO.
He carries a +1 longsword that belonged to his father. As he went up in level it intoduced itself as an intelligent weapon and gave Lucas access to new magic abilities and powers when he was worthy of them. So my sword kinda went up in level along with me.
There was no cleric in the party but the DM was nasty enough to have us find a rod of resurection. When a party member died and Lucas couldnt use the item he swore to his goddess to be a member of her clergy if she gave him the power to use the rod. The DM let it happen so I saved my companion and dual-classed into a cleric.
Unfortunatly his fate was the fate of almost all PCs...The game just faded out when players were not able to make it to games.
He was the longest running character (and the highest level) I ever had. He went from 1st level to 8th. | | Champion of the Skulk Vindicated Champion of the Twig Blight

| Been playing my main character since 1996. He is an elf with a memory loss of his past; he was found by a group of mercenaries as a young adult, took him in and taught him the ropes becoming their thief. He then moved on to greyhawk after a few years in search of adventure where he met my original party; Now he is a level 20 thief that has survived war and Iuz taking his soul (the rest of the surviving party got it back).
Love the character, thankfully he has survived this long hence he is now pretty much 'retired' with a house in greyhawk, he is a member of the thieves, merchant and jewelers guilds and owns a jewelry shop that also serves as a black-market weapons hold.
Still play him from time to time taking a trip to wintershiven and help out one of the other original surviving member who thru the war liberated the city under the rule of the Theocracy of the Pale.
I co-DM those adventures and we decided that going Epic wasn't going to be fun for the characters but it didn't mean the encounters weren't going to be challenging. | | Trades >> Completed: 49 | Bad: Ø | Pending: 0 | Trade & talk Live on IRC! SERVER: irc.psionics.net CHANNEL: #maxminis

| When I was about 14 I read this awesome book. I then made a 2 scimitar wielding elf ranger who pretended to be a drow! It was so fricken original!!
Lol, who DIDN'T want to play a Drizz't type character?
Probably my favorite characters are always the mages. I try to make them quirky and weird. Its usually the easiest class to do that.

| Ruprecht, Swashbuckler without a clue.
2nd edition Swashbuckler kit. To make a finesse fighter work, the DM and I came up with what was essentially Weapon Finesse, and let me have 18 percentile Dexterity (old grognards will know what THAT means!). He also had a Wisdom of SEVEN, and I played that to the hilt.
He got a pair of Wings of Flying, and tried to intimidate opponents by pretending to be a vampire. I think it MIGHT have worked ONCE, but that didn't stop him...
He also got an Earring of Regeneration, and that encouraged him to be even more foolhardy than a swashbuckler usually is. His motto was "I'll get better!" Once he was fighting an Orc Chieftain, and realized he couldn't last long enough for his comrades to arrive and help. Threw himself off a cliff to avoid having his body looted. While the chieftain stared slack-jawed in amazement, the rest of the party obliterated him.
He had many smooth pickup lines, like "My dear, you are beautiful with a capital OOOOO." I should sue Matt Groening for copyright infringement ala Zap Branigan. I have no idea how successful they really were, since every woman he met was a) a powerful sorceress, b) a female thief who wanted to use him for a scam, c) a prostitute or d) all three. A swashbuckler's life...
A dark side of him came out when he got a Sabre of Wounding. He began to like seeing people bleed. Luckily, he was able to get a less evil weapon.
He was the Rightful Prince of Chichester (whereever THAT is!), set out to sea in a basket during a palace coup, and fed by seagulls and dolphins until he was found and adopted by a kindly fisherman. Either that, or he was a fisherman's son with an imaginative and mean sister. I choose to believe the More Fun Option!
Ah, happy times.

| These are sounding like really neat characters.
I'm hoping to get a character like those. I'm thinking of a thri-Kreen fighter or a warforged fighter. My DM is kind of moving me towards the Thri-Kreen bc he doesn't know how a warforged could fit into the adventure. The adventure is in Ebberon | | Disipline is the only way to overcome chaos. | I'd easily say it was Delvin my halfling rogue/wizard/trickster. He was finally to a level where he could throw 8th level spells around with an extra 7d6 sneak attack damage if it was applicable.
I had more fun with him with roll playing and power gaming than any other of my characters. He was retired about 3 years ago. Sometimes I bring him into my home campaign setting as an NPC and my players all Roll thier eyes at me...but I don't care, he was that fun.

| Chithitika - Thri-kreen Ranger/Fighter -- the leaping mantis of death!
We started a campaign at about 8th level, and Chithitika is now about 14th level and the campaign is on indefinite hold. But this PC was so much fun to play. He had an outrageous jump score, and weilded 2 elemental gythkas (each of the four ends have a different energy type). With multi-attack and improved multi-attack he attacks about 10 times each round. He doesn't hit as well or as hard as some of the others in the party, but the quantity often makes up for it.
I was so pumped when in my first couple boosters of Harbinger I pulled the thri-kreen ranger -- I finally had a mini for my character! I think I like him just because I get to roll a lot of handfuls of dice! [:D]

| I will be the first one to throw another game into the mix Shadowrun - a former company man and mega street samurai named Mason. He was a former member of NYPD Inc. and the Humanis Policlub. After he wiped out his strike team he burned his SIN and went to Seatle. The cyberware started to accumulate and he became one of the best in the business. Here are some of his best quotes:
Dream Walker (Dwarven owl shamen) "Smoking like that will ruin your lungs." Mason - Taking a long drag - "I'll buy new ones."
Taking heavy fire from a group of cultist in a small room with a heavy baracade in front of them, Mason fires an Anti Vehicular Missle into the closet sized room. He turns to the rest of the team and says "I like over kill."
Sitting in a chair directly across from a tied up prisoner, Mason takes a long drag and says: "I am going to ask you a series of questions one time, then I will leave the room." The questions are asked and are calmly met with spitting and insults. "I will be back in 30 minutes, I would like you to meet Peppin." In walks a 6'2" naked, bald black man covered in paint and tatoos carying a live chicken and smoking a big ol stogie. He leans over and blows smoke in the prisoners face. "Yeah mon... your soul last a looong time."

| In a sense, you see my favorite character all over the site. Yes, you guess it: Darius. However, he originally started out as a dedicated cleric to a homebrew God of the Forge, Protection, and War. It was a bit of a limited pantheon, so there was some odd lumping of portfolios.
As a twist, the DM decided I would: 1) have a fighter's max starting strength of 18/00 and 2) we each got a unique *thing* for our characters. I chose something really different: He couldn't fail a black/armor/weapon-smithing check for a year. He agreed, since it wasn't game breaking and really different. (This whole campaign was made to have a lot of different things in it -- all for fun!)
Needless to say, his prowess with a forge became nigh legendary. And, in between his various adventures was hired to forge a new suit of plate mail for the King of the land. It was during his year-long stint of perfection; so, he readily agreed. [)]
All of this smithy work, combined with his sheer raw ability eventually landed him as the head of the entire "Forge" branch of the church. He also gained quite a bit of fame as a leader, since he often used the terrain to his advantage, read obvious ambush spots, and lead a small group (re: the PCs and a few other clerics) in through the rear of an enemy army (in enemy disguise) and, within hours, slew the commander, 2nd in command, and the entire head of the clergy in their tent.
On the way out, the group grabbed some grub at the mess tent, were told to look for the "escaped assassins" out the East gate, then promptly lead his group out the East gate, under "orders," and disappeared. Later, they abandoned the uniforms with the bodies of the men they'd killed before and, well, torched the bodies. Oh, was that a fun session!
As he progressed, he eventually ended up with a relic of his order: a girdle of giant strength (23) ΐnd ed], an intelligent vorpal sword that could simply do sick-sick damage vs. the really evil things out there, and a ring of regneration. He was the only cleric to ever cold-cock his own diety's avatar--twice!--and still remain in favor. You have to love when the goddess of magic is his wife--she forbade him from doing anything against me.
Eventually, the game turned high level and we explored the immortal rules. There was one bad guy only my cleric was properly prepared to destroy--so, he did. It cost the cleric his life, but about a week later, his deity shows up at his "funeral" and ressurects him on the spot. What happened? The deity went down a third time! He interrupted a very high stakes celestial poker game! (I adlibbed that part ;).
As things finally ran out in the Immortal game, my character went from a master forger for his god, to, finally, becoming what he had always wanted to be: a dragon. However, he wasn't any dragon. He was transformed into an Adamantine dragon, and even became a secondary deity to all good dragons on many worlds.
Which is really where the evolution of DariusTAD came from: Darius The Adamantine Dragon. [|)] I had a lot of fun going through it, and I don't regret a moment! | | Trade & talk in real time on IRC! SERVER: irc.psionics.net CHANNEL: #maxminis SOFTWARE: PC | PC (free) | MAC

| I played a female bard, and there was this one time, at band camp ....
Actually I've never played a female character, but if I ever did it would be a bard with a flute.
Divine characters are my preference, maybe I have a god complex, but my most favorite character would have to be a druid knocking around Ansalon. Talk about taking a walk on the wild side. He's still going strong, and is tons of fun. Favored of Chislev. | | I have always been here.

| I have a lot of characters that I really liked.
Alexia a sprite sorceress who was CE. Eventually the rest of the party locked her in a chest and left her.
Garak LG human fighter. He wasn't a palaidin he just acted like one. Got turn to stone.
My first incarnation of mercy a human fighter who was a self style preacher. Spreading the "word of mercy". was LE and eventually left the party to serve a Arch-devil.
I have a current character that I like a lot Sgt. Thomas Cooperson a son of a cooper who has become a miltary man. Loves to carry insane amount of equipment, has a gambling problem and specilizes in the crossbow. | | Yes I am Gelatinous.

| Only one really sticks out.
Ghendar, the pyromaniac, door fearing, Kossuth worshipping sorcerer.
Ghendar was a bit of a religious fanatic. He tried converting everyone he met to Kossuth. He had a fascination with fire and he had trouble with doors, being physically attacked by one and killed by another that was trapped with a finger of death spell. He foolishly tried to open it before the rogue could check it out. Along the way, he visited Ravenloft, attained and then lost the half fiend template, took a brief (couple of levels) foray into the world of the Dragon Disciple, and visited several elemental planes.
he was a lot of fun to run.
In the end, Ghendar died valiantly saving the universe by sacrificing himself in order to destroy an Umbral Blot. (look in your epic level handbook) | | Ghendar - Now with 51% more snark

| Drummar Stonecracker, Dwarven Fighter/Cleric... The kid could deal out the damage. I have never had a character that could do more.. unless...
Arrix Ak'Durvall, Drow weapon master, killed a Behir in one round. (old critical hit house rules) Needless to say that the rules were changed after that mission.
Gunnar Stonecracker, Dwarven Fighter/Runemaster... Yes, a distant relative to Drummar.
Sandor, the Hound, Clegane, Half Orc Chain wielding Monk, that rather enjoys a good fight.
How they died..
Drummar developed a fatal case of Yellow Mold. Arrix became scorpion poop. Gunnar, died in battle trying to rid the world of evil. Last man standing or rather that died in a major battle. Sandor, The Hound, Clegane.. (yes, a George RR Martin fan) well, he lives and is thriving very nicely.

| Billy Ray Cole - Call of Cthulhu A two gun wielding PI who always seemed to make his sanity roll. Eventually built up right hand .45 Auto skill of 124% and left hand .45 Auto skill of 118%. Was fast enough and good enough to lay down some serious smoke on any opponent. We used the alternative guns against Cthulhu rules. Was quick and lucky enough to put a pair of bullets between the eyes of many a high priest as they started they maniacal monologue. Killed over 50 cultist inside of the Sphinx and survived an encounter with great Cthulhu with both mind and body intact. (Most of the party died though but the mission was a success.) Retired the character with a 95 Sanity.
Malin Lug - a Human fighter 4 / survivor 5 / tempest 2 (3.0 version) Currently sitting at 11th level and capable of making up to 5 attacks per round with a pair of longswords. Threatens a crit on almost every round and is called a blade quisinart by the rest of the party. High levels in Listen, Spot, Survival, Search, Tumble, Jump, etc... but also has Proffesion - Cook and Craft - Drawing. Has kept a journal of what has happened to the group and notes on every NPC he has met. The journal is 90 pages size 10 font typed. The notes are another 15 pages and both include pictures. Alot of fun to play.

| | Currently i am playing a character that is my favorite so far but i've only done a few campaigns. He is a LE Human rogue named Barious Syntar. The campaign is the "Son's of Gruumsh" campaign but my cousin doesn't like most of the things and builds off of it. So the campaign is basically an "outline". But it is very fun and i have very fun roguelike feats. I'm only 4th level but i have a +1 rapier and the feats are weapon finesse(rapier). but my favorite feat(s) are the Improved feint and Master Tactician feats. I decimated an ogre in 2 hits doing 29 dmg in one turn with Master Tactician. Ugh.... deducted XP for sneaking [:p] | | Champion of Bruenor Battlehammer | |

| I think my favorite character I ever played was an undead slayer monk who died in Ravenloft and was brought back as an undead, undead slayer monk. It was really good for the story and it's fun trying to play a character that gets a complete different view of life than when they started. Plus he had a bunch of cool abilities.

| Hm, tough to choose.
My most powerful character was my first ever DnD (2e) character. Cleric of Lathander named Rand Al'Thor (I was new to DnD but not fantasy, couldn't come up with a name and nobody else had read Jordan). Converted to 3e and took PrC Morning Lord of Lathander. Cleric6/Morninglord10. We've played that campaign off and on since 97.
Most roleplayed character was Bryth Anvilbender, dwarven fighter who was a weaponsmith and dwarven antiquities collector. When everyone else spent their cash on magic weapons, I emptied my pockets for a runestone (big round stone library book) telling the story of some long lost dwarven kingdom. Carried a huge greataxe. Spoke with a Sean Connery voice because a real Scottish Brogue was just too annoying to everyone else. Picture me talking with my teeth clenched saying "Most things in here don't react well to bullets" (ala Hunt for Red October) and you get the picture. Got used to walking around armored like a tank with weapon specialization (2e) in greataxe. Lost my armor and had a regular axe, forgot how much less powerful I was and charged 2 drow priestesses with multi-headed snake whips (I'm just now reading the Drizzt books). That my friends is the end of the story. | | E-mail | Have/Want List | Reference thread "Whatever you do, don't drop a blade barrier on a troll."
