Yep, not ready for prime time (I'm sure the thing costs about $10,000), but this hold some promise for a "merged" media for TRPG and CRPG...

I can see TONS of possibilities for D&D, as well as DDM!

Now that is another good thing to have. I was reffuring to the design of the original machine. To design that would be a little chalange.

Nice stuff. Definitely a "win the lotto" type purchase.

I, like many others, have these dreams of the ultimate gaming room. Alas, will it ever happen? I doubt it.

Next, no. A future version ... likely. In a decade, we'll probably be playing D&D with people across the globe via virtual game tables ...

Nah... a week next thursday! [:)]

Come on admit it, you use to think about this years ago when you were young and the internet was still only something the military used.

I know I'll admit it, before there was the matrix I'd dream of a central computer that the DM would work with and all the players would be hooked up into a virtual environment.

Man I'm still waiting for that day!

I was at a Marcus Cinema in Oshkosh, WI over Christmas and they had something similar to this. It was a floormat, probably 4'x8', that reacted when people stepped on it and actually had a couple simple games that you played by stepping on it. I didn't have much time to explore, as we went to a late King Kong and the theater was closing. At the time I didn't even think of the technology involved, but it might end up these tables are available sooner and cheaper than we think.
