| Session #1: Mark of Heroes, "The Delirium Stone". Four players, including one Human Totemist 4/Barbarian 1 (Riley) With Riley being the only meleeist, he got a lot of the fighting. As is normal for a Kruthik Clawed totemist, he missed fairly frequently, but also hit slightly under once/round. The hits were effective, of course. Acid damage also gets past DR very well, which aided the party significantly. Not enough healing ability in the party was a problem. Unlike the standard Barbarian, Riley has a pretty good AC, which makes him quite unusual and effective. Mind you, only one rage ability during the session. Session #2: Ulek campaign Monsters fought were goblins, ogres, fire beetles, a 4th level NE Incarnate (flame mantle 2, necrocarnum circlet, lightning gauntlets 2) and his pet Ogre Necrocarnum Zombie as the group chased kidnappers into the Underdark. Incarnum PCs were Greg's NG Incarnate 2 (soulmelds: Lucky Dice, Dissolving Spittle, Diadem of Purelight - bound), and Daniel's Totemist 2 (soulmelds: Rageclaws, Sphinx Claws - totembound, Wormtail Belt). Other PCs: Halfling Druid 1/Wizard 1 (wolfrider), Dwarf Soulblade 1/Fighter 1 (Mr. AC), Human Bard 2. Most enemies fell quickly to Daniel's attacks, with the Dwarf proving the rock that none of the enemies could hit. (The ogre got one hit in, but then a Dissolving Spittle + Sphinx Claws from the incarnum PCs finished him off!) For some reason, Greg missed most of the time with his Dissolving Spittle - a run of very low rolls. He does have Point Blank Shot, but has so far eschewed Precise Shot in favour of Expanded Soulmeld Capacity. The final battle, vs the NE Incarnate + Zombie Ogre, saw the death of Daniel's Totemist. A web spell from the wolfrider entrapped the Zombie, but I ruled that the flames of the incarnate burnt through the web strands, so they hindered him not at all. Daniel moved into melee, and the incarnate got the first attack. Daniel attacked back, and went to negatives through the Flame Mantle. The Rage Claws kept him up, but the healers were out of position, and the next attack from the Incarnate sent him to -18 and death. Greg's Incarnate was the most effective against the Ogre (Dissolving Spittle being one of the few things that gets past the massive DR of the Ogre). The NE Incarnate was finished off by a volley of ranged effects. (Poor tactics saw the death of Daniel's PC). Tip to PCs: When you see a Flame Mantle, don't engage in melee! (Or bring out the longspears...)
So far, the Incarnum characters are quite effective, and as villains are dangerous. (What more do you want? [:)]) I'm enjoying this, as are my players.

| Thanks again for the read, Incarnum looks like a promising book.
Noticed on your musing page that you were defending it on the Wizards board...you should know better then to waste your time arguing there! [)]
