I was planning acampaign and one of the encounters involves several swarm of spiders I only have MM v. 3.0 so I looked on the back of the minis card it said it was immune to melee dmg so does this mean no melee weapons dmg it at all only spells? Thanks

From the 3.5MM Glossary, under swarm traits; "A swarm made up of Tiny creatures takes half damage from slashing and piercing weapons. A swarm composed of Fine or Diminutive creatures is immune to all weapon damage."

It's deja vu all over again.

IIRC, lit torches used as clubs deal 1 point of fire damage to a swarm, and alchemist's fire and acid flasks are fully effective, as are AoE spells.
