As an FYI for you RPGers out there that purchase on the internet ... As this is an RPG purchase, I thought it best to describe the problems here, rather than the DDM marketplace thread ...

I recently purchased a few books through Ebay from dreamlandcomics.com.

Unfortunately, they screwed up my order. One of the three books I ordered was the DMG II. They sent me a regular DMG 3.5.

This was back in early December. I sent them emails (6), repeatedly called their store (6 calls) and did everything I could to get in contact with them to ask them to correct my order. There has been no response.

After checking their feedback, I've determined that it is their standard practice to ignore problems that arise.

Just a warning ...

Sorry to hear that, keep us apprised on your situation, did you use paypal?
Try their resolution centre and see if they can help out.

Better yet threaten DLC's with going to paypal and see if they respond.

that stinks jgsugden, thanks for the heads up.

when I purchase stuff thru eBay I use paypal and the cc option, so if I ever come into a problem like this I can put a stop to payment or freeze it and you'll see how quickly they reply to you when they are not getting their money.

I have done that for online orders a couple of times and it always solves my problems and your cc company is more than happy to help you out when you are in the right.

If you file a dispute with paypal, paypal will send them an email that they have 10 days to respond to. If they don't respond within 10 days, paypal will withdraw money from their account and credit it to your account.

FYI: This isn't how it worked.

I filed a dispute already ... on December 31. Paypal sent emails immediately, and Dreamlandcomics did not respond. When I finally called Paypal for a status update yesterday, I was informed that they might finish a review by the end of the month ... and if they found in my favor, they'd have me mail the Dungeon Master's Guide 3.5 back to Dreamlandcomics before they credited me with anything ... and they were noncommittal on when I'd know how much I'd be credited.

Paypal is a complete joke. If you use it, always use a credit card and don't rely upon Paypal to solve your problems. From now on, I'll be going the other route ...

Unfortunately true. I use paypal because it is widely accepted and for ease but only with my cc as *I* have the power to block payment if something like this happens.
