| Has anyone else been getting the Paizo map packs? They are related to the compleat encounters packs that come with minis, but these are mini free.
They are nicely priced, very nicely detailed and very useful for a RPG game that uses miniatures. I recommend checking them out. I have bought 2 of each so far and plan on getting more as they come out. | | Looking for someone to cosponser a midwest DDM event. let me know if your interested! | The quality seem very good. It's written that there are 18 maps in each pack. Are all of them on a 10x8 grid as the sample pictures ? Does the village pack indeed combines together to form the feeling of a village (it can turn out to be big enough, something like 40x36 put together I guess) ? My main concern is that while every little map is fine I will not be able to make a full scenario using them and than I'll have to mix drawing with it. Care to share your experience ? (I apologize for the storm of questions. It simply looks good and I'd like to know more before I buy...) | | Champion of Cockatrices. I wish I never wished a wand of wishing. (Wishful thinking.) | Each tile is 8 x5 similar to a DnD minis tile. About half are 2 part'ers that you combine to make one bigger building. The ones that are single can be arranged pretty much anywhere you want. For the village, you really want 2 sets to form enough market stalls, and small buildings to get a good use out of them. Still for the price 9.95 retail, $8.00 each at my venue they are affordable enough to get 2 (or 3). They are also of good quality and fairly sturdy for cardboard.
The only minor complaint is that they didn't really focus on making the 2 part tiles interchangable. For example if they cut a larger building in half, they could of done a second one cut in the exact same spot so that you could mix and match sides. It would of added a bit of versitility to the set. More of a missed opportunity rather than a fault.
I just wish I could get a darker colored dry erase map so that placing these on it wouldn't really cause any visual problems. They don't look right on my very light tan battlemat. | | Looking for someone to cosponser a midwest DDM event. let me know if your interested! you could create one, Corim Danex has made a few for us locale players here and he made a very large one for his gamming table | | First peon to make it to "Knight Warlord" Completed Trades -148-

Are they like the original DDM tiles in sturdyness? or like the retail kit tiles? | | First peon to make it to "Knight Warlord" Completed Trades -148-

| | I have the village one (LGS didn't have graveyard yet). They are comparable in quality paper wise to the retailer kit tiles, a bit thinner and floppier compared to the regular tiles. I was hoping they'd be as sturdy as the basic game tiles, but that'd be a lot of cardboard tocarry around I suppose. Very nice detail and useful locations. I'm really looking forward to the next couple installments, Forest/Outdoor encounters in May and Castle in June. Anyone picked up the actual Complete encounters that come with the minis and all? My LGS hasn't carried them yet. | | Champion of the Yeti (large uncommon please!) Assistant to the Regional Manager | |

| | I have one of each on the way from Paizo now. I was waiting on the outdoor tiles, until I saw the May release. I'll just pick those up seperately. | | Champion of the Entire Monster Manual 1! (Click link to see current progress!) Uncommon Painting Competition 2 Winner | |

The tiles in them are really nice and the adventure ideas are cool. You only get 4-5 tiles each though. I just can't stomach paying an extra 10$ for less maps and some metal minis I will never paint or use. If you like to paint then they are great. | | Looking for someone to cosponser a midwest DDM event. let me know if your interested! Check out my brand new blog: http://bshugg.blogspot.com

| Holy cow.
I never realized that the image under the description was a sample...D'oh!
I'm not thrilled about the paper used, though. For the price, I'd think they'd be able to get some sturdier stuff. Still, once you own the set, you could make a set of copies for "everyday" use and keep the originals safe. | | Champion of the Werewolf Lord, Knight of Anything Duergar, and Squire of Things Gnollish List reset with the start of previews for each new set...got Chainmail®?

| I saw one of these locally. I simply wasn't impressed enough to purchase it, though. They look decent enough, but their inherent flimsiness was a serious detractor to my decision.
Who knows. I may pick them up in the future. | | Trade & talk in real time on IRC! SERVER: irc.psionics.net CHANNEL: #maxminis SOFTWARE: PC | PC (free) | MAC

How are the tiles, strategically?
