| Just wondering if anyone has a link to such a thing. Something along the lines of "I want 5 major, 10 medium and 20 minor items created", and poof, voila, here are the random magic items in those quantities.
I'm running a campaign right now that's based out of a primary location and I want there to be some turnover at the local shops each time the PC's come back to town. I'm finding it a bit labourous just going through all the random rolls even once. Please someone tell me there's a better way. | | John

| Hey thanks for the link jacksonm, I have random generators for almost everything but not magic items.
I see they have random world, adventure, dungeon, and treasure generators. I always like checking these out.

| | Thanks guys! Those are both very good links and by the looks of it they're going to save me a pile of time. If I ever do get really bored though I might still just find the time to go about it the old fashioned way. Something about rolling dice and the anticipation of seeing the results one by one is still a lot of fun. | | John

| These treasure generators are great, but I wish there was something that incorporated ALL of the items from ALL of the 3.5 books. I know, I know, complain complain complain... [:D]
Thanx for the links, guys.

| I use TableSmith a lot. (Not sure of the url at the moment -- just running off to work.)
Edit: Found the link: http://www.mythosa.net/Utils.html
It's great for generation of many, many things. One of its current uses is to generate magic shop inventories. My players can find anything under 2000 gp, but anything more than that they need to browse through the shop inventories. It takes me about 20 minutes to populate, verify, and print 8 large magic shops.
Tablesmith also has random generators for names, places, weather, calendars, dungeons (both maps and encounters), etc. And the scripting, while not very intuitive, is learnable so you can add/modify the scripts to custom fit your campaign world. | |

| We should put together a Stickied topic for a Roleplaying tool kit that has a master list of all sorts of helpful links like the ones posted here. Anyone who has something useful to contribute to the list could post it with a brief description and then whoever is interested in maintaining the master list could just keep adding them to the first post.
I'm sure there are all sorts of helpful free resources out there that members of our community are aware of. Probably things you wouldn't even know you'd want to use till someone else pointed it out to you. | | John
