| The minis look like (but are not guaranteed to be) the: * Greycloak Ranger * Cleric of Moradin * Evermeet Wizard (Blue robes instead of pink) * Regdar, Adventurer * Large Blue Dragon * Unknown other baddies
We currently believe it will be tiles and not posters, and it is very reasonable to believe that Stat Cards will be included as they were in the original.
I will be getting at least one (maybe two) of these. I will at least be on the lookout for a bonus set of tiles if nothing else...although the Evermeet Barbie looks much better in blue, and I could always use another couple pieces of plasticrack. | | Champion of the Werewolf Lord, Knight of Anything Duergar, and Squire of Things Gnollish List reset with the start of previews for each new set...got Chainmail®?

| I hope there are tiles that work with the ones from the first basic set. That way, there are more options in putting together a larger map.
I hope the cards are normal cards instead of ones with serated edges like last time.
Whatever miniatures they put in are fine with me. Repainted would be preferred.
They have probably made all those decisions already, but if not, I can always hope that it comes out the way I have described as preferred. | | "Look to God and live." Alma 37:47 Vindicated Champ of Hippogriff (Arcadian Hippogriff) and Uncommon Horse

| | I'm with Corim in hoping that they use tiles instead of maps - and the more generic, the better. After several incarnations of the basic game, if we were given different tiles every time, one could put together an extensive dungeon floor plan. | | Over 270 successful online DDM trades. | |

| Personally, I'm hoping for both maps and tiles.
A number of generic "dungeon" tiles and a large map for use in a final encounter with whatever baddie figures into the included adventure(s) and a small hamlet or large tavern/inn on the back would be awesome. | | Champion of the Gelatinous Cube. Nemesis of Gnomes and Dinosaurs.

| | I'm with Sulaco on this one. I like the tiles that came in the first one, but a skirmish legal, or at least skirmish QUALITY map would be great. Both would be fantastic. | | Official Delegate, Wizards of the Coast Icons Called Shot: Gargantuan Prismatic Dragon "Rejoice, for bad things are about to happen." | |

| So this would be the blue dragon from deathknell? Why no new sculpts in the basic game?
more generic card tiles would be ok if they work with the ones from the last set, but really I prefer the poster maps. With a pair of double sided maps they could do an exterior woodlands with ruins for the dungeon entrance and then the first three levels of the dungeon. Of course since it is a blue dragon I guess the ruins should be in a desert with boulders or something.
I cant see me not wanting to buy the basic set, but if I already have all the figures in it and there is no poster map... more money for skirmish boosters.

Tell that to everyone who bought the first one for the Orc Warriors and Black Dragon. For all we know this one will have 3 Drizzts in it. [)] | | Champion of the Gelatinous Cube. Nemesis of Gnomes and Dinosaurs.

Because that would be considered an "Exclusive" unless this new sculpt would appear in a future set.
WotC wont do exclusive minis because it ticks off certain fans.
Who knows we might get a mini that will end up in an upcomming set in this thing...but I doubt it.

| For the record: Some of us believe that Evermeet Barbie is not in the set, but that the blue garbed figure on the box is a figure that will appear in War of the Dragon Queen (or even Blood wars) that has a similar pose to the Evermeet Wizard. Given the complete lack of summoners in recent sets, it seems unlikely that they'd rerelease a figure that could be used for skirmish that can summon ...
There is still a long time before the basic set hits the streets. | | The final word is that no one really knows anything beyond the fact that there will be a blue dragon and some form of Regdar via the picture on the front cover. | | Champion of the Tohr-Kreen. WotDQ Called Shot: Fang Dragon.

That might be the case, but I'm (reluctantly) betting on Evermeet Barbie. I had that picture enlarged to mini-size, skewed to the proper angle (hopefully) and then sat there and compared it to Barbie. Those poses were spot on to my eyes.
But I've been wrong before, so there's hope for the future after all! [)]

Unless there were summons available in the Basic Set as well--but that's speculation of the most uninformed sort. We still have yet to see that Level 9 Hyena for the Gnoll Sergeant, after all.
As for Skirmish, I'm sensing a different angle being used for summons--things like the Horde Zombie and Terror Wight come to mind--plus minions. But that's really the realm of another forum. | | Champion of the Werewolf Lord, Knight of Anything Duergar, and Squire of Things Gnollish List reset with the start of previews for each new set...got Chainmail®?
