I'm going to maintain a master list here of useful links for DnD roleplaying. Please feel free to add contributions by posting them here as you come across them and I will update the master list as often as my schedule permits me to.

When you post be sure to include the links and a brief description of what it is and how you feel it is a useful resource.

Thanks.

Random dungeon generator http://www.aarg.net/~minam/dungeon.cgi but its on the same site as your town generator so I'm not sure if you should included it.

The NPC generator on the same site is a great time saving device for me and one of the only decent ones I found.

Wizards also has a great site for character sheets for each specific core class including the ones in the complete books. http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/20050304a

And Ema's homepage has some customized character sheets for specific campaign settings as well as other intresting D&D stuff. http://www.emass-web.com/top-home.htm

Maijstral,

Thanks for the contributions.

That's exactly the random dungeon generator I remembered using before. What do ya know I still had it right there in front of me and didn't even know it!

The Ema's homepage doesn't seem to work for me right now.

The link I posted to Ema's doesn't work for me either, strange. However my bookmark still works so try this http://www.emass-web.com/

I'm thinking I accidentaly hit on a jpeg or something when I tried to get the web address from properties, my bookmark link above works though.

Just click on the links on the left side for the various character sheets or programs.

Emanuele is a cool guy, I've been chatting with him for a few years (he used to be a member here too). His stuff is so good WotC uses his sheets for their R&D; Bastion and Mongoose had him create some official sheets for them too [:D]

His website's "dynamic" part is 100% PHP now so it is better to link just to www.emass-web.com

The details of my life are quite inconsequential... very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner and RPG designer from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute and RPGA certified DM named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark and THAC0. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons, D&D every night. In the spring we'd make meat helmets for LARP. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag, forced to walk the walk of a thousand four siders, and beaten with reeds- pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe, which was very handy for D&D. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles for LARP. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum... it's breathtaking- I highly suggest you try it.

I find Jamis Buck's 3.0 NPC generator just as useful since it includes monstrous races:
http://www.aarg.net/~minam/npc.cgi
For the same purpose (quickly making monsters with class levels) I also have used the following site a number of times:

I didn't realize that this is where helpful links go! Here is one I found just today it will make a spell list to your exact specifications and prints them out with DCs, durations etc already figured out for you. You have to input a little extra data (class, level, ability scores) but it has pretty much every spell source I have ever heard of for d20/D&D. I am having great fun with this and it is going to save me about 2 hours of prep work a week.

found an interesting link http://www.wakinglands.com/htm_files/the_races_page.htm.

It collects in one place all the info to create a detailed PC of both the standard D&D races and a handfull of monsterous races.

the main page http://www.wakinglands.com/htm_files/the_main_page.htm has a lot of interesting stuff including paragon levels for a bunch of monsterous races and new feats and spells. However it is mostly fan based stuff as far as I can tell not official so I don't know if it should be included.

I wasn't sure how to classify either of those two links so I put the main page link in an interesting miscelaneous DnD related stuff category. Something that did catch my attention on that site was the kobold traps so I made a category for those and provided a more direct link. I think it would be great to add a pile more to the traps category if anyone can find some more out there.

Something else I'd like to mention is that while all of these links that are being contributed so far have great information in them, some of them just contain too much general info. I'd greatly appreciate if we could narrow things down to more specific categories. If you come across something that you feel the first post might be lacking, and would like to see added to the list, then those are the types of contributions that will make maintaining the master list easier on me.

Thanks for everything so far guys keep em comin.

I have used a lot of different character sheet generators and this is the best I've found. It also has a spellbook generator called spellforge. If you are the DM and all of your players use this software, you can easily import the important data into the DM tools proram as well.

This website is an excellent resouce for people who plan on running either The Shackled City Adventure Path ot The Age of Worms Adventure path.
It seems to need updating in the Age of Worms area..But for Shackled City its fantastic.

You can download maps and big pics of the artwork...Most notably the character portraits sprinkled thoughout the adventures.
Just print them out for easy handouts.

Theres also other related things to download..And even custom monster counters for combat (I dont use those cardboard counter disks now that there is DDM but its cool anyway).

If your running Shackled City...You NEED to take advantage of this site.

That works for me!

I keep forgeting that we can always scroll down and read what's been said about the various links as they've been contributed. Even if some of the links do end up in a very generic category the descriptions you guys are providing with your contributions are very helpful.

I think you want to recatagorize the Tablesmith program at http://www.mythosa.net/Utils.html. While it has random magic and treasure generators, it also has random encounters (including a whole set of Forgotten Realms encounter tables), NPC generators, Calendar generators (with moon phases for Earth and the developers own campaign). What is more, if you are of a programming bent, you can use the scripting language to customize your own encounter tables. I set up encounter tables for which included the NPC stats, so before a gaming session I would generator a host of random encounters and wouldn't spend lots of time copying down stats, worry about treasure (I'ld know before hand what they had so they might use magic weapons against the players). There is also a Yahoo Group which shares their scripts, so the product isn't stagnant.

So you think it should be in more than one category? I'm cool with that. Which other categories does it fit in and should I list any new categories to support aswell?

Thanks for the contribution Mike. Looks like we've already got a similiar link for this guy already in the master list, apparently he does nice work, I've added this new link to the list above.

Thank god the bulk of the master list was created during times when I wasn't so busy with work, I don't know how I would have managed keeping up with it now that the construction season is booming. Don't let that stop anyone from making contributions though, I'm still able to find time to peruse this site every week or so and won't be losing interest in minis any time soon.

You know, I keep thinking that after the new design team gets done with D&D 4e, D&D won't stand for Dungeons and Dragons anymore, because well, that's just not fun. It's old and stuffy. - Originally Posted by BabWryter on Kenzerco.com

Is there a dice rolling program that I can use as a DM so I can have my players on the internet roll dice and I can see the results?

Thanks

I suppose it would be acceptable to use Vassal for that purpose.

Just used OpenRPG. It's a nice tool for online gaminig. You can have miniatures, draw maps, easily make shortcuts for abilities, attack rolls, and initiative to save time. It's a nice resource.

AIM also has a dice rolling mechanic, but it's a lot harder to use.

I found an online graph paper site that you can print free graph paper at, customizing the graph paper to the size you want:
