Truthfully, it looks pretty mixed bag to me. The short "The Gamers" from Dead Gentlemen strikes me as much more true-to-life. (IMO, BTW, the Quilt of Shame clip is the best one.) | |

I didn't mind it...the funeral part was funny.
The orignal "Gamers" movie from Dead Gentlemen was all right but a bit cheezy for my taste. Not like my games where its nothing but "who wants another beer while my character is standing there stunned". | |

A documentary made by nongamers about gamers. 5 chapters one on miniature wargamers(unfortunaly its a few years old so no DDM),D&D players, LARPers, SCAers, and a chapter on how the media and certain religious figures try to demonize D&D. Seriously, Ubergamers is a really good film and they show a social stratification of how gamers look at one another.
As to, "The Gamers". This is how many of the games, prior to 3X, were. All the folk who are at my table have seen it. Once, on a game day we were short a couple of the guys and instead of running a "one off" (seperate story same time line) we watched the film.
The thing was that my DVD player showed the Spanish subtitles. Hence forth any time there is a mention of "Shadow" in the game. Someone will scream out, "La Sombra!" or if someone is missing then they are refered to as "Mark". Good stuff!! [)] | |
