| I can't seem to find what the average height and weight of a bugbear would be in either the Savage Species of MM? I have a pc who rolled up a bugbear rogue and I need to figure his height and weight. Even if you don't have a reference for this information any estimates on your part would be appreciated. We will be starting to play in about 1 hour!!!
Thanks! | | Give me more MIND FLAYERS!

| | Off the top of my head, I'd guesstimate about 7 feet tall, and 270-300 pounds. Of course, if you're using the bugbear footpad mini, it would have to be about 8 feet tall and 375 pounds! [)] | |

| HERE'S a link to a bugbear as PC info page including height and weight chart.
males are 6'11" +/- 9" and 310lbs +/- 70 lbs.
not sure if its official or, more probably, a fan page but it is usefull for creating a Bugbear PC in detail it includes all the scattered info in one spot.

| The flavor text for the MM lists the one being described as 7'. So I'd go a handful of inches in either direction with the exceptionally short being only a little over 6' and the exceptionally tall a little over 8'.
No idea about weight except for what few healthy humans we see in that range of height. So 350ish is probably a little lighter than I'd go for a "typical" individual (assuming 7' is average). | | Champion of the Werewolf Lord, Knight of Anything Duergar, and Squire of Things Gnollish List reset with the start of previews for each new set...got Chainmail®?

| | Thanks a lot everyone. I think I might have made our bugbear pc a little smaller than the average. He came out with a height of 6' 6" and a weight of 350 pounds. I appreciate the responses! | | Give me more MIND FLAYERS! | |

| Two things to bear in mind: muscle weighs a lot more than fat and weight increase dramatically with height.
Look at basketball players. They are tall but tend to be fairly lean, even when they are in shape. Saquille O'Neil is 7'1" and 325 pounds. Lou Ferrigno is 6"5" and was over 300 pounds at his biggest, but still not as muscular as a bugbear. Even a 6'6" bugbear - small by his race's standards - could easily tip the scale at nearly 400 pounds or more. The 350 you stated earlier would be good for a lean one (rogue perhaps). | | Champion of the Gelatinous Cube. Nemesis of Gnomes and Dinosaurs.

Honestly, I *was* using Shaq as my baseline. [}:)]
The Bugbear's favored class is the Rogue, so that tells me that 350ish is probably still on the light side. Maybe bump it to 375 as an "average" example, and take the fighter-types to the lower 400s. | | Champion of the Werewolf Lord, Knight of Anything Duergar, and Squire of Things Gnollish List reset with the start of previews for each new set...got Chainmail®?
