What kind of world is it for? Is it an Oriental Adventures-type world? A Forgotten Realms-type world? An Eberron-type world? Medieval Europe? Primitive Africa? Incan/Mayan? Roman Republic/Empire? Greek polis? Tolkein-esque? Jordan-esque?

The feel of the world makes a HUGE difference in what kinds of names might be appropriate.

A couple of basic suggestions (from Mandarin) would be Nanlin, Nanshulin, or Nansenlin (all mean southern forest), Donghaikou (eastern port) or Dongwan (eastern bay), Zhongfenlie (split apart in the middle).

It's a Tolkein-esque setting. The towns are far between.

Perhaps Sauroth, Moroth, Elbanor, Dein, Isithnor, Brambor, Kelthor.

Since I don't know Finnish (and my Anglo-Saxon is sketchy at best) I can't produce too authentic Tolkein-esque names [:D]
